completely agree on the Haruki Murakami comment. Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki is another of his books I think has similar vibes as Norwegian Wood, but much less, "oh my god you're the most irresistible man, take me right now" in his few women characters in there. Side note, LOVE your book recs, content and voice so much!!

I love your list, Katerina. I live in Australia, so I am digging into the spring reads at the moment(so I will check out your video on that). But I love your autumnal list of books and the way you describe them is chef's kiss! It is so cool that you know a little Arabic and Spanish! But ahh, piranesi, book thief, the hobbit and little women are all so special.

Ok this settles it, the next time I visit a bookstore I'm picking up Piranesi. A few of my friends have been recommending it non stop and like every booktube video I watched in the last few weeks talks about it too. I think it is a sign >

I would be very glad if someone helped me. I want to read a novel or story that has suspense, romance, and mystery. The female lead is very insecure but loves the main lead and vice versa. The second lead also loves her so much selflessly and secretly but she never notices his love.

I almost bought Norwegian Wood yesterday but held off because even the male reviewers were commenting about how awkward the author depicts women and can go on for pages about their breasts. I wasn’t sure if it was my cuppa tea 😂 I’ll probably go to a book store and read a full chapter before committing. I am intrigued by different writing styles though.

I think it's an interesting snapshot of Japan in the 80s - I believe it was hugely progressive at the time for it shedding light on mental health issues, so I think as long as you know there's icky writing regarding women going into it, it comes as less of a shock (but then again there's probs a gazillion other books you could spend your time reading LOL)
@TiggerTellsTales22 күн бұрын
@@katerinareemI think I’ll try it…it’s not the end of the world if I’m don’t like it. I’ve done very little reading on Japan and am trying to expand. Thanks 🙏
