FINALLY - Someone who is talking in simple language that I can understand - THANKYOU as I just bought this camera as a back up camera for my Canon 6D which I use all the time at weddings and events concerts etc., and as I was only looking for a back up camera I didn`t want to spend a lot of money HOWEVER I would like to know if there is a Battery Grip suitable for this camera as I always work with battery grips on my cameras I can`t seem to fond one anywhere .. Thankyou again for this tutorial as it is nice to know what the different cameras can do. So far I am loving this camera and I take it out for fun random shooting between events .. I am loving the photo quality and the ease of use

You will love the tetons. They are breathtaking. We went May 2020 and it was perfect. Not a lot of tourists due to covid scare. And may I suggest the Lexington in Jackson Hole WY. Simple stay and board and the Tetons are not far in distance but its also in the middle of the Jackson Hole shopping areas. 😊 enjoy and safe travels.

I just picked up this camera the other day. You had lots of info that made it a lot quicker to use. I found out 1 thing. If you connect to the app. Make sure the camera is in the mode you want to use. If you change the mode...it was disconnecting from the Wi-Fi. I found the app really easy to use. Now I can hook up a tablet with a huge 10 inch viewing screen which is awesome!! Looking to learn more. New subscriber here. Thank you.

Wonderful tutorial! Learning a lot about my T7. I didn't see this mentioned but remember that when you turn on the WiFi it disables the wire connection ports on the side. If you want to use your camera as a great web cam remember to turn off or disable the wifi and download Canon's software for using you camera as a webcam. The software is designed by Canon and at least when I download it, it was free.

The T7 is a great camera. Purchase with the kit lens to start with, you may want to add a 50mm prime for solo portraits - but learn the camera first.

You are very easy to understand, you explain so i can follow along. You show pictures taken, change settings and shoot again so we can see the difference.I am glad for many things, but mainly 2. That there is digital camera ( i started in 1975 with foto, dias. :) But lost interest due to expensive equipment, and very few to learn from. And 2. The 70D was my first digital DSLR camera. It would be about 15 years ago so very different to todays cameras, but if it works you should try it and see how it goes. Probably wouldn't get a lot of money if you sold it I'm afraid.

Thank you for this video, very helpful. The reason I'm purchasing this camera is because it has a hot shoe adapter on it. I do a lot of filming of RC aircraft and also airshows and I found by mounting a 7 inch external monitor to the camera is much easier to follow the aircraft. Well there be any problems setting this up, it would be HDMI to HDMI, I use a wireless microphone system to catch audio, but hopefully this camera well have a decent audio pickup. Some of these camera's won't let you see the camera screen while the external screen is on, I hope this is not the issue with this camera..

Thanks Paul, you helped me to move beyond the auto mode which I used in my previous camera (Nikon D40). It took great photos, but for some reason I did not feel comfortable exploring the other modes. I have just replaced that Nikon D40 with a Canon EOS Rebel T7 and have been watching your videos. I really like the moving from Auto to P to start playing around. The first time that I am now moving beyond Auto - thank you.

Very informative and helpful video. I've very recently purchased a T 7 and have just barely begun taking photos with it. The T 7 is actually my third Canon DSLR with my first being an EOS T 3 which my grandson now has, the second is a EOS T 5 I. I have a few different lenses for them. Both the T 3 & T 7 were purchased as "kits" each coming with an 18 - 55mm lens plus the T 3 also came with I believe it was a 55 - 300mm but not exactly sure on that one. My grandson has both of the lensed that came with the T 3 "kit". For the T 7 I have a SIGMA 18-300 DC MACRO plus a Canon MACRO ZOOM ??? - 35mm sorry but it's very early in the morning and I'm tired and one of my granddaughter's has it with her right now ... plus Canon EOS Prime 24mm & 35mm MACRO. I've been around since way back in the "film" days and was very glad to finely find an adaptor which allows me to couple my old 35mm day FD lenses with my EOSs. Anyway I really learned a lot about the features for the T 7 that i didn't know about and I hope to see how many of them also work on my T 5 I. Like I said it's early morning and I've very tired so I will most surely be watching this video again ... several times along with writing down some notes. I was especially glad to find out about the WiFi and HDMI options. FANTASTIC VIDEO!!!!

Just subscribed-I just purchased a Rebel T7 for a new class I'm teaching. I haven't figured it out yet but I will! I enjoyed the video but need to figure out how to get rid of the lag when taking stills. We lined up students to take portraits (green screen, easy shot) and it took 2-3 seconds to actually 'take' the photo. I'm hoping people still look here and have advice!

From the "lag" you mention I assume you are using Live View via the LCD screen when taking photos. In the live view mode yo may find the focus slows down, this results in the lag that you mentioned. To solve this you could either not use Live View and instead use the viewfinder (this would be my option). Alternatively you could use manual focus - this one may be a bit trickier to do but should result in faster shooting. Let me know how you get on.

Just bought this camera. I actually took a digital photography class in college but I've pretty much forgotten everything as it was more than ten years ago. My main reason for buying is I make handbags & other unique stuff and want to take photos for my website & Etsy shop. It didn't make sense to pay a photographer because it would've cost more than I could make selling them & I will need ongoing pictures. So I am hoping I can take some decent photos with this camera. I'm hoping to get most of them outdoors. The big challenge with that is I live in Florida & the weather doesn't always cooperate. But there are some beautiful parks in my community so lots of opportunity when sunny. I'm told the best time to do that is morning or late afternoon. My house is dark & most of it looks like a Chinese sweat shop so I don't have many options for shooting at home. I might invest in some lighting & backdrops to do in my kitchen in the future. I love photographing in black & white. I have photos from my college class on my walls of old buildings & stairways that I took in Portland, OR. I just love them! I also love pictures of water fountains. I remember getting some amazing shots for my class. Hopefully settings will all come back to me. Love your viseo & hope to learn as much as I can from you. :)
