FYI*** the Elora quarry is yes beautiful and so much fun. (FYI. It does have a small beach area for smaller children id still have them wear a life jacket but it does go out like a beach for about 20 feet ish lol then there is a big drop :).) but Elora has a few other places you must visit while there. A short drive or walk down the street and there is the beautiful downtown Elora where people will go to on its own. A small UK countryside village feel, old stone buildings everywhere, a old bridge over the wide river, cute little stores to shop, an old theater, a recently renovated beautiful hotel and spa with an amazing restaurant sitting overtop of the river and Gorge. And plenty other restaurants in town. Probably my favorite place in Elora is the Elora Gorge provincial park. Lots of camping along the Gorge looking down upon the river. Where you must take the tubs down the river. It’s about an hour/hour and a half trip. You meet at the top and there is a bus that brings you back when you get to the end on a bridge. It is sooooo much fun and stunning. You have to have safety equipment and a tube of course. They do rent. That’s What most people do. But I’d call first if you want to know if you can bring your own and save some money. There are plenty of beautiful trials the Gorge is super high so just be aware of that :). For smaller children they now have a water park. Not huge but a good size :).there’s A camping store and it’s very close to town for groceries, Tim Hortons coffee of course lol.etc It’s about a ten min drive between the quary and Gorge through the town of Elora where they have grocery stores, hardware store and an LCBO. Now for ones that enjoy a bit of indoor fun lol and horse racing there is a large casino, the grand river raceway across the street from the Elora Gorge provincial park camping and tubing. Lots to do there too. Lol. More then just gambling :) Give it a try. You will fall in love with it like we have I’ve been going since I was a small child. I’m back living close by in Guelph again and boy it’s great to be just a half hour away. Really guys. If you are going to the quarry it’s silly not to go see the Gorge too. When it’s just 5-10 mins away :). They are just stunning and they have amazing campsites too some sitting right on the edge of a hundred ft drop to the gorge and river If you like to camp this is definitely the place to take that week long camping trip. Stunning walks adventures swimming tubbing and even horse racing :).

There are punitive parking / rules based penalties around Hamilton. Do some research to avoid filling government coffers.
