Many students & parents are expressing concerns over Religious Education teachers wrongly using their authority to sow doubts in religion. I asked Mohammed Hijab (MA from Oxford University: applied theology) these common allegations to equip our students with basic responses.
This video and the questions are in great demand. Please share it so it reaches the students or adults that need this. It could save their faith and make them more confident and better Muslims. I have time stamped it so you can go to the questions you urgently require.

Jzkh brother, I don't think you can even begin to comprehend how important these videos are for Muslims of younger generation. I would spend hours going watching your speakers corner vids in order to learn responses to Atheists. You've managed to condense all that information for the youths so they feel confident defending their beliefs in society. I remember being in school and it would genuinely feel like it was you and Islam Vs rest of the world.

What’s scary is how much support a teeny, tiny, minuscule fraction of the world’s population get, and how much they are promoted and defended, and yet you can say and do whatever you like against the nearly 2 BILLION Muslims (25% of the world) and nobody bats an eyelid when they’re discriminated against in almost every possible way. Parents: take your kids out of school and home educate them. I got in to an argument with an atheist the other day. His argument was that he questions everything including the existence of God, where as I don't, I readily believe in the existence of God. His argument was that if God's existence cannot be proven scientifically then God does not exist. My response to his argument was that I do not need to prove God's existence, as mine is just a BELIEF, not a CLAIM. A claim needs to be proven scientifically. Atheists on the other hand do claim the "non-existence" of God, which of course they cannot prove, and as long as they are unable to prove it, it's just their BELIEF in non-existence of God. If I cannot prove the existence of God than I am sure they cannot prove the non-existence of God. We are both BELIEVERS in the existence/non-existence of God. Besides science has only been able to prove the existence of already existing things. Science might INVENT something but it cannot CREATE anything. Science has always only discovered things and made use of those discoveries. Things were always there before science was even a thing. Science means sh*t to things (excuse my language). Atheism is all about BELIEVING in NOTHING (from nothing, by nothing), until science discovers/proves the existence of an already existing SOMETHING and then its followers start BELIEVING in that SOMETHING too. Atheists are BELIEVERS of science. Science is their God. I am sure if some day science tells them that we hear through our nose and smell through our ears, atheists would believe that too.

"His argument was that if God's existence cannot be proven scientifically then God does not exist" This atheist believes in scientism, which is the idea that only things proven by science can be true. The problem is, this idea (only things proven by science can be true) is ironically not scientifically proven (ask for the evidence that only things proven by science can be true). This belief (of scientism) contradicts itself because it cannot be scientifically proven that only things proven by science are true, and therefore scientism is false. Brother, going ahead I recommend reading a book called "The divine reality" by Hamza Tzortzis. You can find it for free on the IERA website. This book will explain many things so that you will be prepared in the future against arguments like these.

This is so true especially the fact that I changed 3 schools during my gcses and had to pick ethics/philosaphy! In my first catholic school we learnt about Christianity/ Judaism which was alright as the teachers were catholic! In my second school We were taught Christianity/Islam but the teacher was very bias and knew nothing about Islam maybe cause this school was outside of london and had very few muslim students(she genuinely thought that angels came in the morning to sit on our shoulders to write all the good/bad things and at night just left us)! My third school we were taught Christianity/Islam, this teacher was an atheist but a good one who actually wanted the students to really learn and connect, Similarly like the others she only knew what the book said about Islam and nothing about spirituality and so she always directed kids to whatever religion she preferred! She thought that Prophet Muhhamed(PBUH) wasn't peaceful and that Jesus was considered a better Prophets to Muslims! Her logic was because Jesus was said more times than Prophet Muhhamed(PBUH)! I remember the some of us Muslim students after class went to talk about this with her(Its funny because many christian students didnt even know anything about Christianity ) Its sad that I was a kid and couldnt answer her back as I was always messing around but I wish I could now. This is one of the answers if some1 tells u that Jesus(PBUH) is better in Islam because he is stated more times in the Quran: Being stated more times doesnt make them "better"! Prophet Moses is repeated more times than Prophet Jesus and prophet Muhhamed(PBUH)! Its how the Quran talks about them! Regarding Prophet Jesus it talks about how his really close disciples betrayed him at the last minute but with Prophet Muhamad none of the 4 did! The Quran tells us that every Prophet preached that there will be one last great prophet and then no one after him so wait till he comes! Every prophet since mankind including Moses, Jesus, Noah... preached this as well as that there is one God!

Apart from the part on evolution which is wrong. Humans evolved from apes, who themselves evolved from small mammals that survived the comet strike that killed most of the dinosaurs, who all emerged from aquatic creatures called lungfish, who themselves evolved from single celled animals. We know this to be true because of fossil records and our knowledge of DNA. There are many muslim academics and non-academics who believe in this version of evolution because they have studied it and know it to be true. Could you please forward this good advice ASAP so that we may attain success and prevent calamity InShaAllah? It is when joking and making fun, we should abstain ourself from acting haughty saying jokingly like for example "this video is great because I am here" or some thing like that. It is dangerous because if we make too many jokes from this nature, a small influence from the shaytaan seeps through the joke and makes it into our subconscious. It is dangerous and can lead to foolishness. We should watch out. This is a crucial important and urgent warning because I have noticed the effects myself. May Allah protect you and develop you.

@@islamonline990 I know Muhammad Hijab and Zeeshan Ali, and I know they joke around harmlessly. The intention is not what my criticism was about. It was about the action. Someone can do good and unknowingly, because for example certain knowledge has not reached them yet, do unintentional harm to themselves and to the community, again without intention. I am saying that joking once, twice, thrice with fake pride is funny, but has its downsides when doing it constantly. You can ask people of knowledge and wisdom about this. It leads to unconscious undesired consequences, because The Nafs is not always tame to train, but sometimes a wild horse that does not listen. What I am saying in the end is to seek the middle ground. Those jokes are not truly bad, but they are indeed toxic if one does not pay heed. This is what I would like to raise awareness about.

I want to share a story...I am medical student... Uptil now this is the most disturbing case I came across in my Psychiatry round... Once a patient presented in OPD... She was wearing mask. The lower part of her face which was not covered with mask was very hairy.. I thought may be some endocrinological (hormonal) issues are going on... Her parents were divorced.. She was accompanied by her mother...When taken history she told not to call her using female pronouns. She is a male. She told that excess hair on her face were actually because of testosterone injections she started taking when she was around 12-13 years old!!! No one in her family knew about it!!! I am talking about Pakistani girl not a teen girl from west! How come her mother didn't know about this?? How no one in the house saw changes occuring in her apperance??? The disturbing thing about this case is no one cared about her and she ended up destroying herself...Moreover she liked (attracted to) girls!!! The point here is if parents do not take care of their children (definately in this case parents were having no concern about where their daughter was going or why are such changes occuring in her body) then they can literally end up destroying everything. Her mother was with her and she seemed to be very much ashamed...

Just last week I was on the phone with the principal of a French school asking him why he was going in the kids classes and telling them they should rethink their belief in God because how can they believe in what they don't see. He told me he's doing this because he attended a critical thinking course in England and wants to get the kids to think. I said no this is not why we send our kids in your school, so that you turn them into atheists. This has really depressed me and your video is a comfort because I feel at least that I'm not alone as a mom troubled by these ugly tactics. I like the intention behind this video but I feel like you're missing the mark because you haven't defined your target audience. It seems as if it's for children to ask their teachers or parents to explain to their children for them to ask their teachers, yet the 3 questions are worded as if you're speaking to a philosophy graduate. I understood your questions 2 and 3 but the first one still doesn't make sense to me and I'm a grown adult. Hijab, be careful not to fall into the trap of forgetting how the average person digests information. Almost all highly educated people do this. They forget what the average person understands. If their post PHD self spoke with their pre bachelor's self it would make no sense to the earlier version of themselves. Whatever you say needs to make sense to your uneducated self to be of any use to the average person. We're not as educated as you in this matter, much like you might not be very educated in physics for example. A PhD level physicist explaining the universe to you might be just as confusing. Two words... Target audience. Jzk

Because of this my teacher was like, 'when we were doing islam u were good but now u arent respectful' something along those lines. Btw, her family background was indian hindu or sikh, and she was an agnostic from what she said (from what i remember). How the heck is this person expecting me to be respectful when she knows im a muslim and this religion outright goes against ours by the no.1 worst sin: shirk. This is even worse than killing etc... this shows how bad it is. If u dont believe in Allah (God) then how are you to be forgiven???
