I have a few different mood disorders, plus pain. My first budgie, who wasn't typically very cuddly, used to snuggle with me and wipe my tears with her feathers. My current budgie senses when I'm upset or in pain and sings and chirps very soft and nice. Both such sweet girls 💕

I have 2 very tame budgies. When my son got sick from covid19, he needed to stay in bed for 2 days (due to high fever). EVERY time i let the birds out, they flew to him, sat close to his face, espcially his mouth, and just staid close for 1-2 hours. That was not normal behaivior from them, normally the great us, sit a little time close to us, talk, play, and then fly around playing themselves. But when on was sicks, Budgies stayed close to him, especially his face and mouth. Amazing :-)

The next day, I talked to them in a baby voice and they were so happy! They kept chirping and chirping🥺 but great video!😎

@OphidiaSnake2 жыл бұрын
I've experienced that first one so many times. I've had quite a few different pet birds in my life, and they have always acted concerned if I am ill or upset. It's so touching when they simply decide that their Personal Human needs them by their side on a particular day for cuddles and general care. It's truly one of the best things about keeping a bird!
@lucydiamond123 Жыл бұрын
This made me feel so optimistic. My birds are rescues I have had about 2 weeks. They've never been tame and are still scared of my hands. But they loudly call for me if they know I'm home, and want me to sit by their cage all the time. I am glad they know I love them, and I think they know I am trying my best to take good care of them.

I had the flu for a week, my bird was completely normal and energetic as always. A few days after being completed miserable unable to get out of bed or do anything besides take a hot bath, I was getting ready to lay down and rest and sleep for the night and as always, I went to give him more food and water (as I did every morning or night depending) I noticed he was trying to sleep at the bottom of his cage. I thought he was just trying to sleep I didn’t know this was bad at the time, he looked comfy. A few minutes later I came back in the room and he was in the other corner not at all in the right position for sleep, and he looked lifeless. He was still alive but wasn’t moving and wasn’t making any noise. I knew something was seriously wrong at that point and that he was dying. I picked him up and held him and pet him until he had some kind of weird small short seizure and passed away in my hands. I’m still unsure of why or how he died. I was devastated and cried my eyes out for so long. I really want to know what happened. One day he’s happy as always doing his thing and the next he was just gone. I feel horrible for not knowing something was wrong but he genuinely wasn’t showing any symptoms of being ill. I’d also like to note that I had recently switched to a different bird seed (still meant for my bird type) and he didn’t seem to care I don’t think. I gave him treats pretty often probably once a week and he would eat it when he felt like it. I had him for about 5-6 years and I’m not sure how old he was when I got him. We got him from a breeder. Their life spans are supposed to be 10-14 years and he didn’t even get to live it all. He was a cockatiel by the way, yellow and a little gray. My sister had named him Lemon.

I'm so sorry, I know how that feels. The same thing happened to me with my lovebird. She passed away all of a sudden, in my hands. The vet told me that since birds are preys, they never show when they're not feeling well (that's a behavior that should discourage predators out in the wild). Most times, once they show us it's too late. That's why they leave us so suddenly, they hide the fact that they're not okay.

This video is so true. Awww! 🕊 I rescued a dove as a baby. If I had to guess.... I'd say he loves me. He never wakes me up, I know he watches me sleep, if he sees he roll towards him he might start cooing to me, if I tell him sshhh he does. He follows me into the shower, either perches on the rail or just sits on the side of the tub, he falls in sometimes, but he loves showers and baths, he likes the hair dryer, he's cool with being bundled him up in a towel. He gets all sorts of fruit and veggies. He likes some nuts, he's soft bill, so sometimes I'll grate the nuts, I make him different rices and quinoas. When I wake up I offer him water, he's probably forgotten to hydrate during the night, like a little kid, he usually takes a drink. He's a very interactive bird. I adore him. He likes to watch his ipad, he has tried to send messages on my computer, so I have to cover the keyboard. He thinks eating earrings and buttons off people on the screen is hilarious! I named him Jake because he loves Jake Ducey, he likes to watch him on the ipad. He's probably business minded Haaaa! I'm so glad I finally got a #birb! He's a riot! And I'm keeping him 😎
