If you feel any tightness take it down asap. The longer and thicker dreads are the heavier they are the heaviness of your hair is already pulling

@MotivatedByE I got a question: What is the name of the starter locs style you used for your high top locs
@86Kera24 күн бұрын
When I know more loc repairing techniques than they do 😅 I wish I could pay $75 for a wash and style. $150 here in Houston so you’re absolutely right !

🤣 I know right? It’s lowkey a blessing living in the UK with locs. However, I’m realising there’s a new rise in prices across the hair industry. When I was living in Jersey back in 2016, it was $40 for a cut, now I’m seeing barbers charging 100s for a regular cut. 😭💀

@ it’s insane! Using inflation as an excuse to overcharge people but thankfully I only go to her 3x a year (anniversary, vacation and birthday)

@@86Kera 😂 I would do a video on it but I don’t wanna knock anyone’s hustle but there hurting our own market by these prices. I’m the same aswell probably get 4 Retwists a year 😂🤞🏾

I hear this and people argue me lol but up to 7 months my Loctician use to complain about my breakage. I told them “ I’m listening to yall, yall said wash your hair or use rose water etc” not doing nothing crazy other than that. Got a new Loctician one at 8 to 9 months. Told me not to wash my hair. Never had breakage since. And he charges me 45 for a retwist and cut

I do my own hair or let it freeform. Only 2 people messed up my hair, and the other woman was serious about doing my hair and made sure my hair was straight. I think she charged me little but I paid her $100. People who mess up my hair don't get anymore cash from me.

How do you know its tight for the sake of a re-twist vs unnecessarily tight?
@MotivatedByE26 күн бұрын
A retwist will naturally cause tension pain which feels like a Radiating non-focused pain. This is normal and will probably last for like a day or two. When the Retwist it too tight, you will feel a sharp more focused pain in certain locations that is tender to touch. Your scalp will literally look like it needs to breathe or be released. You will find it hard to lay your head down to rest even after 1 day.

Not to undermine what he said but the only time I feel discomfort when getting a retwist is while she’s twisting the loc and as it dries with the clips but once those are removed I have no pain or discomfort.
