As a "Lone Ranger" artist, you can do the majority of work alone, but help is help. You can get by doing a mediocre level of things you dont specialize in, or you can just be humble and make a connection online. Having friends that help out makes life so much easier 😊

I was raised like that. No dad to back me up, and mom was not there to back me up on business stuff, so if I wanted something done, I would have to do it myself, learn it myself and then I became a lone ranger. Not excuse not looking for any sympathy just explaining that sometimes life teaches you to be a lone ranger, but you have to overcome even that bit more difficult but doable.

I learned early on that I had to just do sh!t myself. I was often home alone from the time I was 5. I barely had any adult supervision. Mom cheated w/ abusive dude on dad. Dad beat mom. They divorced when I was 8, and my dad died when I was 9. Living with my mom and her bf was hell they were constantly on the border of getting into physical altercations. Long story short, I've learned to rely on myself for most things. Of course it's impossible to be completely isolated and doing everything yourself, but I rarely ask for help or accept offered help from others. I find most people are deadweight with poor work ethics and help is often conditional on immoral reciprocation. It's also difficult finding people whom I mesh well with. I agree working as a team can lead to exponential growth, but it can also lead to devastation.

Im on my way to a million dollars in sales being a lone ranger . I run an online business and i know i can perhaps get there faster and also scale up with some help but everytime i looked for people i found people who are under qualified, qualified but with poor attitude or over qualified. So i ended up doing things myself . I cant get myself to settle for any employee just so that i can have employees . I look for quality people who are driven and believe in my business but unfortunately i found most people just want a paycheck . May be i need to change my perspective.. i dont know .. I think as entrepreneurs we must look for help but i guess for a start up like mine its best to keep the critical jobs with myself and give the rest to others ?

As a lone ranger, I can attest to this and add something to it. 1. If you like doing things just by yourself, you wont get help when s***t hits the fan and your colleagues will embarrass you with "I thought you could do it all by yourself" kinda sarcastic behaviours. 2. You' might end up on psych meds from all the pressure. 3. Bosses will hate on you in silent for not asking for help and thereof boosting their "divine-like egos" for being the ones you guide yourself by. 4. Job Hopping, cause managers dont like "independent workers", specially if they succesfully contribute to company growth and it threathens their positions. I'm trying my best to become a team player, especially because I went from working in selling Insurance to telecomms products which is a new field and I dont know anything about It.

This is a huge fighting point between my wife and I. I’m a Lone Ranger running my farm, and I need help! She just says I need to work harder and figure it out. And that I don’t need to “dump any money” into hiring help. She says figure it out or let it go, or let me go. I’ve been building my business for 7 years and known her for less than 4. My farm/property is my life long dream. She acts like it’s a waste of my time. I’m at a fork in the road.

I'm not a lone Ranger, I like working with like-minded individuals. But there are few or none. Why? What's up? You want to go into business together? Draw up the plans, don't be shy with the zeros, either. We don't talk business on social media. We do that over fine dinning. I need to be able to look you in the eye, when we shake on it, with the lawyer's present, of course. Because whenever people come to talk business with me, they expect me to provide all the value and take on all the risk while they collect all the rewards and the credit. Since that is not mutually beneficial, especially for me, I usually just tell them F-off! Especially when they are not providing the same value as me.

I'd have to disagree with pat on this one because being a lone ranger isn't really bad thing, because it depends on the occupation. For business-related occupations, lone rangers are a hindrance, but in the scientific research occupations, looking at it from the eyes of a businessman, lone rangers are a benefit to minimize cost and maximize efficiency for a company, since the competition for these kinds of positions is very low while the pay is very high. The only time lone rangers are a hindrance to the scientific research field is when the company is catering to a global scale, like the IUPAC
