Ugh! Some of these places itch my engineering senses! I get why they were abandoned but I can't believe not ONE enterprising person would be able to find a way to give some these areas new life. Humans are clever creatures and if we see opportunity we jump at it and I definitely see opportunity in some of these places.

Only 1 CA segment can be categorized under "Human Condition": the segment filmed in Colma as long as Historian Pat Hatfeild talks about decedents. The other such segment should've been categorized under "Frontiers" or "Planet Earth". Most likely "Planet Earth". There was nobody but buildings in Bodie. "Frontiers" is with physical features like mountains, rivers and the like.

But why were these perfectly livable places abandoned? There are all sorts of amenities available in most of them. I don't get it. Could the refugees from the warring middle eastern nations get a chance to live in these places. They would love to have a home, a mining industry, a pyramid shaped mountain and lots of land to grow food on.
