Hey Gary: One additional tip for your viewers if they're going to crop: Do your cropping first (so the auto-enhancing tailors itself to the cropped image, not the whole image).

An easy way to reset a slider is double-click on the vertical slider line. If the tool has multiple adjustments (e.g., Light has 7 sliders), the undo function will set everything back to default, which isn't want you want to do if you want to reset just one setting.

Not with Photos alone. But you can use the ability to edit in an an external editor from Photos and make the change in that external editor, saving it back to Photos. Preview will do it if you are patient in selecting the area, but an app like Pixelmator Pro or Photoshop can do this easily if you have the skills.

Hi Gary, is there a workaround to access images in photos. So, when I need to upload a photo to an app or document I have to shift the image from photo and into one of the finder folders. It is really cumbersome
@macmost

Not sure what you mean. Can you describe what you are trying to DO? Just "upload a photo?" Use the media browser to access the images directly. Or, often drag-and-drop works.

How do you access photos that have been edited to export via something like Whatsapp? It seems now that images aren't stored as individual files the way they were in the past versions. Seems inconvenient to export every photo imported from an iPhone. What is the easiest way to manually copy images to an external drive for safe backup if you can't access individual files?
@macmost
@macmost 2 жыл бұрын
Photos has always stored images inside a library. I don't use WhatsApp on a Mac, but in most apps you can drag a file from Photos to the app, or in the app you can select their "choose a photo" function and then select Photos in the left sidebar. See kzbin.info/www/bejne/h4OWe52ei9-lZqs
@RedRocket415
@RedRocket415 2 жыл бұрын
@@macmost Very much appreciate the response. It IS a generic access question, and your video does the trick. Maybe I just can't locate the files. Back in the day, individual image files would be stored in folders labeled by date under "photos". The files don't seem to be individually stored in a tree structure anymore, so manual selection and drag-and-drop via Finder doesn't seem possible.
@macmost
@macmost 2 жыл бұрын
@@RedRocket415 The idea of a library is you access the photos inside the app. The "photos" are more than just the image file, but also data like editing info, tags, titles, etc. Thus a library rather than plain files.
