Not true. It usually has a positive effect. Stock split means lower price per share. Strong company, good financials, more people can afford to buy, people buy, price goes up. I made lots of monthly from the last Apple split.

The S&P 500 will always trend upward in the long term for another 10 years or 20 years. Trend reversals over the next 2 to 5 years shouldn't phase anyone looking to grow their portfolio to hold 10,000 shares of 3 to 4 dividend-paying companies, tops. Once you own 10,000 shares in any stable company operating in a relatively politically stable economic environment, you're set for life.
