The English confidence journey can be hard, so how do you stay motivated, how do you keep going when you don’t see progress?
Isn’t that the million-dollar question?
After an initial boost of excitement with a new course or technique, you might get bored. Or frustrated.
Or you don’t see the progress you expected.
At that moment, you have a choice: Find the motivation to continue so you can achieve your goal or give up.
My number one goal is to help you find and keep the motivation so you get the English confidence you want.
To help you do that, I have 7 strategies to help you stay motivated, even when you don’t see progress.
Get the full lesson and share your go-to English phrases for online meetings at

At every level towards fluency, there is a period to seem stuck and still for the progress. But I don't care about this stuck situation and only just learn according to the plan. Each time maybe about after two weeks, I suddenly found that I have some improving, which give me more confidence to continue to learn.

I can successfully recommend listening regularly vocal english music (non instrumental) or watching movies and videos with (original) language setting=english soundtrack and/or sub titles to improve and keep english skills alive. In my 1970s middle school english lessons have been held in an "english lab" with audio tape recorder inside each students desk regularly. Grown up in the northest part of germany (Flensburg near denmark) I have a collection of english music (1970-1990 pre digital era with Compact Cassettes & Phono Records, few Compact Disc) which of course today eqals to playlists or links to the worlds biggest music & video collection (Internet).

When I feel unmotivated, which is quite common lately, I try to do something different: listen to a new radio channel, a new KZbin channel or application ... something that adds something new to my routine, and I also read my writings, to check how vocabulary and structures have changed over time. I don't know if that is a good strategy, but it works for me. And of course listen to your channel keep me on the right track. 🤗🤗

I recently started watching your video.Your way of teaching is so meaningful. Thank you. My method of keeping motivation was to remember the last failure that I would never have liked to experience again lol,but I recognized by your video. I didn't recognized myself but I've been keeping forward by some of those ways.And I got to be confident it was correct way. One thing I'd like to know more about in your description,talking with others would make you notice more about how to improve your English. If you have a chance could you describe that point further,please? Or maybe I missed one of the video that you already created.

Thank you so much for the comment! I'm grateful to know my lessons are helpful. Could you share a little more about the note you found in the description? Do you mean the description below the video? I'm trying to find the comment you are referring to so I can answer you question but I'm not sure which comment it is.
@naobobi
@naobobi 2 жыл бұрын
@@Speakconfidentenglish Thank you for responding my comment. From 11:22 is the description where I wanted to hear more about. I'm sure that is not your main point in this video and I might be misunderstanding what you are saying about. My question was that I sometimes feel difficult how to know my progress and accomplishment by having conversations with others or speaking in the community ,because I can't speak better the next day when I spoke well. I feel myself community learning is benefit for me. Having friends often gains my motivation and encourages me to keep going. But sometimes I can't see progress and satisfaction from that. To be honest, learning English with others takes a certain time and making relationships sometimes bothers me. So sometimes I lose my motivation to jump into the relationships. I'm afraid of losing speaking partners so I get off my butt and jump into conversations. If there are any ways to measure my accomplishment while I've been in a community learning, could you tell me your view of that, please?
