Actually, I knew you were trouble is not about Harry. It was on her RED album, and if i'm not wrong it came out before they started dating, so it's probably about Jake Jillenhaal or John Mayer(i'm not sure)

They weren't serious tho, she wrote Treacherous and Come Back, Be Here about him then after he was caught kissing a girl on tour she ended it and wrote I Knew You Were Trouble. Then they got back together in October 2012. Its obvious, she said the person it was about was sitting watching her BRIT awards performance and who was there? Harry. Plus the secret message for that song is 'You saw me dancing', and Harry first noticed Taylor dancing to his song at the Kids Choice Awards that year. Everyone thinks Haylor started in Oct 2012, but they briefly started seeing each other months before. Giving her plenty of time to write those songs for Red.

People never want to admit it's about him because they love the narrative that she never wrote song portraying Harry in a bad light but she DID. It wasn't a big secret, she admitted in an interview that it was for him when she performed it at the Brit Awards, got on stage at the 2013 VMAs and made it obvious who inspired it and also the guy from the music video said Harry approached him at the VMAs and said he thought he did a great job in the video etc. which basically also confirms that it is about Harry. ALSO Taylor also confirmed Treacherous and IKYWT were written about the SAME person and Treacherous is about Harry. All the evidence is right in front of you yet people will still swear it isn't about him. Your timeline about it being written before they dated is wrong. There is 3 Harry songs on Red.

Harry never once confirmed to be dating Taylor, every time he was asked he denied it while looking uncomfortable as hell I would believe it if he actually looked happy about dating her but he didn't he looked more than upset whenever she is brought up in interviews, changing the subject immediately. Thats why I consider it a rumor because he never confirmed it not once so simply its still just a rumor to me people can believe what they want but without Harry's confirmation there is no truth to it. How bout we don't react to their relationships at all . unless you cover all the ships i would stay away its a sore spot for this fandom its all bias at this point.
