Some other *spatial audio* tools I learned about this week at MIT Reality Hack were Steam Audio and Google Resonance, which are both highly stable for VR applications. If you're using HoloLens specifically, they have a purpose-built spatial audio engine, as well. But perhaps most importantly, there's a subtle but important difference between 3D audio (audio that you can localize from all directions) and spatial audio (which is also 3D but additionally includes reverb, sound reflections, and characteristics of the physical environment, like the sound of different materials). Credit to Shirly Spikes from Magic Leap for these recommendations. 🙂

Yes. 100% yes. Once I watch all of Apple’s content, I will determine how I can best provide unique value to our community. Sub to the channel to be notified when I post 👍🏼

Hi Ryan, not sure if this is the best place to ask this question, but maybe this is something you can even make a video about. I've just discovered your channel and I really appreciate all the free advice you are giving away! As someone who is looking to get into Apple AR development in anticipation of the Reality Pro headset, I wanted to ask you for about a MacBook recommendation. What specs would you recommend? I am currently torn between the new M2 Max MacBook Pro with 32GB of RAM and 30 core GPU or an older refurbished M1 MacBook Pro with 16GB of RAM and 16 GPU cores. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks!!

Those are two very different MacBooks. The m1 should be passable however I’d recommend 32GB RAM given 3D apps tend to use up a significant amount of memory. Of course having a powerful GPU is key for 3D/AR development. Before comparing machines, I’d consider overall budget first. It is very likely that the Apple headset will cost $3000 (excluding tax and other accessories). So whatever MacBook you get, make sure you have the budget for the headset as well. I’d rather have a lower spec Mac AND headset than one powerful Mac but having to save up more for the headset. Also not sure if u need a laptop, but the Mac Mini with M2 processor is a great value buy. Hope this helps! Best, Ryan
