Great video! Ouch on the van windshield! Look at having the lightest ceramic tint applied to your new windshield before installation, it makes a huge difference in the heat during the summer here in the desert!

oh, tip on the sunshade, impact driver drill and 7-8" lag bolt, screw it into the ground. and then use the drill to unscrew it. the "wood screw" big bolt will dig right in and hold. I use this for my big pop up shade. I don't think a normal drill will have the torque (never tried it). BUT once unscrewed you kind of need someone to hold the pop up shade, cuz that is when the wind always kicks up.

nice build, i think a van would definitely handicap my build though, because i plan on towing a trailer with a tiny home on it in the future. some of those trailers need a heavy duty truck with 12,000 lbs of towing capacity. the van is only 7,500 lbs of towing capacity, so towing anything heavier means you'll need to buy a $20,000 heavy duty truck for towing purposes
@LiveLikePete Жыл бұрын
Thanks! A trailer would defeat the sole benefit or purpose of the van. 😄 These vans can actually only tow 5k. They are super convenient and useful on their own though.

Item #8 a roof attached awning.
@LiveLikePete16 күн бұрын
@@Mostviews111 🤣 nah. I actually find them pretty useless on vans.
@Mostviews11116 күн бұрын
@LiveLikePete uhhh then why were you using that tent then? You complained the whole video about the heat but you shade wouldn't help?!
@LiveLikePete16 күн бұрын
@Mostviews111 because I was filming another video out there under the tent. I complained the whole video? No, no I didn't. A roof awning wouldn't have worked for what I needed the ezup for anyways. You seem to have me ALL figured out. 🙄 Go troll someone else.

amazing set up man - Quick question for you - I had an idea that it would be better to reverse the motorcycle in the van. So the handle bars would be further at the back of the van and not too much in the way of the living space. What do you think? would it be easy to reverse the bike in or loading the bike forward is the only way? in any case have a wonderful adventure full year
@LiveLikePete11 ай бұрын
Thanks! I've loaded them both ways. I rarely camp with the bike inside the van but that would give a little extra room if you left it inside overnight. 👍

They seem fun but wouldn't really fill any gap in my trips/ rides. I already have mountain bikes and dirtbikes. I'm running out of space in my garage. 😆

How are you dealing with the gas smell in the van, that’s the part I’m struggling with right now, even with a efi bike. Only thing I can think is the exhaust fans on the roof in a open setup like that.
@LiveLikePete Жыл бұрын
I've never really noticed any. The only time I've smelled fuel is when I store the bike in the van for extended periods of time longer than overnight but as soon as I open the doors it gets aired out. I always have the vent fan open and a window cracked if I'm sleeping with the bike inside, but it's never even been an issue.
@jasonmaylor8100 Жыл бұрын
I have this problem too. Thought the efi bikes would be solution,,,,nope. Running fan all night sucks out heat/ac and sucks in pollen to piss off my allergies.
