I got the Bigfoot Ferro Rod as an I love you present from the wife a while back. There is legit no competition for how good the product is and how easy it is to use. My 9 year old daughter starts our fires for us b/c she loves to do it so much. It is a must for any camper/hiker/overlander just for the ease of use. And like you said, it smells like strawberries!

"light on a stick" sounds like a good idea. Long ago we used the propane coleman lantern but if you aren't lucky enough to have the right shaped tree available you can only set it on your picnic table. I bought a "stand" that consists of 3 telescoping poles that form a tripod. It works and packs very small but is only about 5' or 6' tall. Now of course I use an LED light for camp, having it elevated sounds like a really good idea. I have chairs that I bought for very cheap at the local discount store. They are quick to set up and have proven to be very durable over my extended use, but they don't pack down very small and when I pack my Jeep space is at a premium. I'll check out your chair suggestion to save some space. As for saws, you can get pretty good saws at your local home improvement store. A slightly curved pull saw works very well and you can buy them either fixed blade or folding. Project farm recommended the Corona brand which is low priced. I camp mostly with my daughter and she brings a propane fire pit. It takes up a lot of space but she likes it and it works anywhere even if there are burn bans. We don't have to carry wood, cut wood, build a fire, put the fire out, etc.

I finally gave up on compact chairs (I have cliq, front runne) rand bought the 23zero springback chair. it's bigger, but oh so comfortable. Yeah it's bigger, but I deal with it because of the comfort.

Seems like you’d be the perfect ambassador for an overland tournament or some type of events. I’d be interested

I have the agawa gear boreal 24. I bought a blemished one and it’s near perfect and works great. That being said my silky Outback 2000 just works better. I believe Agawa is coming out with an axe that snaps together. We’ll see how that goes.

Justin, is the wedge tent your preference over a popup? Seems to be a lower profile...

Yeah, they set up and tear down much quicker.

Is there a rule about sharing what firearms you bring with you as well? If you do at all. I love these videos but I've never seen any of these overlanding videos talk about what kind of firearms they carry with them. Just curious. Love your content man!

I'm assuming the KZbin Overloard would demonitze them if they talked of such things... unfortunately.

A big game changer for me was bringing a small microwave while overlanding. I just heat up my breakfast burrito in the morning, eat it, and I'm ready to go hiking or off-roading. No cooking or cleaning.

Very disappointed in the FrontRunner chairs - the material on the back is too wide and positioned too far back from the seat bottom causing a very slouched, leaned back seating position and one with your butt at the back edge of the seat bottom. FrontRunner also doesn’t provide return shipping, so if you don’t have a store near you that sells them, I would think twice about buying them through Amazon. It was very expensive shipping them back to CA from the Midwest. Would highly recommend the GCI Pico folding chair instead. The design is similar, but without all of the design faults (IMO) of the FrontRunners.

Oooh. I’m always looking for new chairs. Sorry you didn’t love the Frontrunner expander. They definitely aren’t loungers.

@@JustinBMcBride no worries - its always good to try out different models. The Pico’s are slightly more, but worth it. May even be able to try them out at REI.

LOL that Devos light shipping to canada after money conversion is over $300 ! For a light? No thanks. You can buy several PORTABLE battery powered magnetic dollar store lights for like... $20. $300? Glamping always costs too much.
