What a great movie! Boy production standards were so much better back then. -- Also you might call this a period film. If reflected society back in the early 2000's when people suddenly became irrationally superficial... It's how people were back then. Even then society knew these behaviors to be wrong. That's why there were movies about people coming to realize the mistakes of this time period. Unlike today's movies these older movies showed society for what it was. They weren't utopic propaganda pieces as are movies today that directly impose their political values on society. At least the old movies tried to make a case for the moral lessons they sought to convey...

Blue2, I think that was very well expressed. I recall so well in 2000 when Bush was elected by 5 supreme Court judges and suddenly you could no longer call anyone a hypocrite because actually they-- including bush--would right to your face, say in do many words, this is what I'm doing and F you. At that time I knew something big was happening in society and I did not know quite where it was going to lead but I also knew that the age of hypocrisy and the ability to call someone a hypocrite was over because they would say to your face : this is what I'm doing and I know it's opposed to everything that's ever been stated that a human being should be but you know what --I don't care-- and I have the POWER and you don't. That last part of course was implied , not said, but you knew, absolutely knew, that's what they were thinking. nowt the Democrats are trying to force all people to get another vaccination which is actually not a vaccination because the definition of vaccination was changed by fauci in the Webster's dictionary in 2001 so that he could market his drug in perpetuity with NO liability because vaccines have NO liability due to Reagan deciding in the late 80s that they would not have liability for any damage done to the patient tho a certain amount of money might be rendered to that patient or that patient's family, unlike with the COVID drug. Do they try to pretend like this is bad? Do they say that actually this is in violation of the FIRST Amendment which gives your sovereignty over your life; your body;your voice; your opinions? NO. they don't even bother. THEY just do it.

@@LadyBug1967 Sorry it just isn't true that Bush was elected by 5 supreme court judges. Bush was several hundred votes ahead of Gore but Gore's lawyers simply wouldn't quit trying to come up with insane reasons to throw the votes that Bush had out. And besides, the Democrats are hypocrites because after that election they claimed that Bush didn't really win and yet when Trump claimed that Biden didn't really win they said that if you don't accept the results of an election you are an insurrectionist and are trying to overthrow the government and are guilty of treason. Hillary also claimed that Trump didn't really win and that they the system was rigged against her by Trump and the Russians colluding together. So when the democrats refuse to accept the election the media says that is just fine but when Trump doesn't accept the election the media says no one has the right to question our elections because they are totally secure.

I relate to the job half done bit. Having recently retired I have managed to put off several things and lo and behold it ended up they did not need doing after all. Some tasks get delayed until I feel comfortable doing them and they end up being easier than anticipated. You should see my work bench in my shed. I can empty a carton of beer quite easily and my new found gut attests to that.

really cute story about tieing up loose ends and finding yourself before commiting to a lifetime relationship. I think if Michael followed me in that scenario it would turn me off because he didnt respect the time/ boundaries she needed to sort things through and she wouldve come to the same conclusion on her own but him crossing off her list and leaving one of his own was very cute. I think some details were lost to editing but very well done, good story ❤️

I enjoyed it overall, though some of the characters’ actions were questionable. The preschoolers certainly didn’t need these details. Watching the characters work through their “stuff” and grow up was interesting to me, although sometimes uncomfortable. Lori calling herself fat as an adult was maddening. Ridiculous standards bestowed by her mother. Is this why she dressed so poorly? Michael was truly wonderful and deserved better treatment ❤❤❤

It’s not about skinny women or lack of style, although Lori is skinny herself and she is very beautiful despite her poor fashion sense and lack of grooming. But her personality is not kind, she has no consideration for other people's feelings, is mean, and dishonest, self-sabotages her life and blames others, doesn’t hold herself accountable for her actions, and cheated with her ex a few days before his wedding is horrible. She lacks integrity and has no ethics or morals. What a disgusting human being!

The red plastic of a tail light is so shiny, it's translucence is a wonder to behold in the glancing rays of the noonday sun. It's sharp edges catch the breath with internal refraction, casting light splinters which dazzle the retina with an ethereal panoply of energetic interference. Yet in one split second the plastic is dulled, made ugly by the scraping of sliding pavement due to the tragic failure of the tires to hold gravity under control. The former beauty is absorbed into the oblivion of a pale pink powder streaked along in chaotic lines on the surface of the black asphalt. Never to be seen again, yet only now revealing it's true nature: that it's beauty only exists in a surface, but it's material character has no strength. Yet under the nearby dirt was another red: one that has been true, and solid, but also variegated: co-mixed with bands of whites and grays and tans and blacks, some translucent some opaque, each differing from it's neighbor yet all fused into unity. Still unknown, covered, and silent. A unity of constitution, a variety of colors. Patient, waiting for innumerable years. Invisible until the dirt is scraped away in an instant of chaos, allowing this new red to see the day for the first time, but more importantly: to be seen also for the first time. Then as a hand reaches down to grasp and hold the new red, the hand's owner also gasps, for in his possession is a sold three dimensional object, with weight and strength and toughness, but still filled from surface to center with an ever changing variety of beauty. A beauty that is not worked for, not the result of effort, not painted on, but just is. The photographer captures two dimensional images of beauty just like the red of a tail light, and similarly bound to the gloss of a surface. This is not something to love. Instead he falls in love with three dimensional beauty, one that may not have all of its exterior sides polished, but one that doesn't have only surface beauty, but is beauty infused into itself down to its very core, because of it's very nature, beautiful, like an agate. That is why he went for Lori the agate, and ignores the "beautiful" tail light women.
