Hi Steve, The size of the cable required will depend on the make and model of the product selected by the client.

In UK normal ring cir6is 2.5mm but induction it's either 6mm or larger 10mm.

You can buy 13 amp induction hobs that you can just plug in yourself. No need to hire an electrician.

Absolutely......... But 13amp plug in induction hobs are quite low powered compared with proper built in circuits. We have an individual 2,100 watt Tefal single burner plug in induction hob which we pull out for family gatherings and it's phenomenal! To have a built in four burner with similar power, wed need 6mm or 10mm wiring circuit.
