You missed one trick that if you choose to attack bandit camp, its good to wait till they go to sleep since some NPC remove their armor and you get to fight them in their "pyjamas".

Just as a tip for speed leveling "maintaining" I stumbled across, take a throw away weapon like a basic axe, crank the angle to deliberately damage it on the grindstone then repair the damage- this will count towards exp and leveling

It doesn't matter if it's your main wep or a "throwaway"; just hone then tear it up, hone, tear it up, repeat ad infinitum. Your blade can be repaired/wrecked indefinitely. Thi is how I increased my maintenance to 20...although it's bs that even at skill 20 you can only repair items at 60-61 durability and up; all else requires going to a vendor for repairs.

Here's something tiny but personally I think is a nice touch. If it's pissing it down with rain, you can see the npc's running for shelter or standing under shelter. When it stops raining they come back out. Again, it's nothing that effects gameplay but its a nice touch and that warhorse thought to include it.

Witcher 3 has the same mechanic. Assassin's Creed Origins had something similar but was more like an auto pilot to your objectif or waypoint. I wish MGSV had the same principle since both Afghanistan and african maps where huge.

In the prologue, you can beat Kunash with his ax for about 20 minutes and level up your strength. Just choke him out, bring him into his house, and swing away. He's an invincible NPC, and you won't get in any trouble for whooping him because it's part of a mission later on.

Using the clinch mechanic is something I found absolutely vital to help in killing some of the tougher guys in the story. Once your strength is high enough and you invest in the proper perk you almost always win them so long as you react fast enough. It's also super useful against multiple opponents, I went from losing all the time to two dudes to now being able to functionally kill 5 without much injury.

Get the perk where any head hit could knock out your opponent instantly and when you clinch use the smack with elbow option I clapped Runt with this lol

Just started playing this a few days ago on my Xbox one and all I can say is “wow!” This game is so much fun and I am constantly immersed. The combat is so hard at the beginning but once you start to slowly get better and learn more in Rattay, it truly makes you feel like you and your character are getting stronger. I was iffy about downloading it but it was free on the game pass. This game is worth every penny of its starting value, and your video is awesome man! I learned a lot for a noob, thanks for tips man

You can level up your strenght, vitality, agility, unarmed, warfare and main level faster by: knocking out someone, carrying them to river and constantly punching them in the face. This can get you to max on most of them within 30 minutes to one hour

Leveling up is essentially a set rate based off the action. So the 'punching' bit is about number of hits really. Being able to hit more often and fast does the trick

I knew most of them...alchemy is a gem, btw. I leveled past 13, and can automate my pots, so I have tons of every kind. I didn't know about the leveling through punching cows, or the killing villagers and it respawning...not my style. Also, the game is supposed to be 'realistic" so doing stuff like that isn't my cup of tea. Didn't know about the clinch, so I'll have to try in my sparring with Bernard.

The clinch is gold. Res mentioned "stun", but imho didn't clearly spell it out: immediately after a successful clinch, there's a short window where you can get in an unblockable attack. Clinch/jab-slash-clinch/jab-slash is FAR more consistent and effective than any of the so-called "combos".

Didn't think about buffing the friendly troops by dropping a potion in the pot. Good tip! Also, getting into a clinch and shoving the enemy into a barricade or fence is a great way to score free hits on them.

Marigold potion at alchemy bench doesn’t need the recipe. Just put all ingredients into the cauldron and then distill it. That’s it. Good for getting up to level ten pretty quickly

Helpful tip for alchemy. There's a trait that allows you to mess up one step in ingredients which allows you to not have to boil them. Also if you apply drinking water to potions, you can duplicate potions for next to no money. You cannot apply it to saviour schnapps.

Also poisoning cauldrons with a vial and you are seen you get blamed and attacked even but if you apply poison to a stack of water flasks not only you pretty much multiply your poison vial like you said but also you can use one water flask to poison a cauldron completely stealthy even with witnesses as everyone else just sees you add water to the food that is cooking.

First thing you should do if you don't care about being good or evil. In your starting village you can rob it blind put all the things you collect in your home chest and after you get a horse ride back and enjoy a couple thousand gold plus got almost full plate by knocking out guards and hiding there body I got my sneak skill to 7 before leaving the start plus had a bunch of higher end weapons. From that point you can go buy some gear that suits your lvl

I have learned that using my stealth can get me out of many bad situations. guards cant see me even in day light. they won't engage me, or hit me. and sooner or later they just give up and walk away and forget about everything i did.

Clothing/armour gets dirty before it even shows the "dirty" icon in the inventory. Only a bathhouse can clean your stuff fully. E.g. if you see yourself looking grubby but your clothing/armour are fully repaired and don't show up as dirty then go get a bath! Also you get dirty faster when running and not at all on horseback

The game doesn't respawn equipment, I jumped a guard in Talmberg for some armour before I went back to Skallitz and that guard spent the rest of the game wandering around in his underclothes, just new weapons

I've hit cows early on, in Skalitz, even before it gets attacked. _However_ , note that you should not do this with people around, because it is a crime, especially if you knock out/kill an animal. So be sure of your surroundings first. This puching strategy also works on pigs.

you can actually gallop too: double tap shift to gallop and hold shift after the second press with out pressing WASD. you will move at the horse's sprint speed.

Armor is an interesting aspect, so in short there are 2 types of armor in total, ok technically 3 but there is metal and cloth, this is simple to understand simply put, if you wear a lot of chain, then wearing some plate will be overkill and slow you the fuck down. There is some form of medium of course. Another thing, on your person or horse, carry a sword of your choice, an axe, and a mace, all 3 of appropriate levels of course.

I knew all but the cow thing however i think they patched that as my results when trying were best training with a mace with captain Bernard Other tips: Collect water and use it to duplicate potion effects. It doesn't work with all potions but it does work with Merigold and several others This lowers the nutrion value you get which means you can take much more - also without the alcoholic drawbacks Potions, you can make mistakes such as skipping boiling as long as you don't need to distil it. Useful for leveling

Early in the game when you are sent to scout the bandit camp in the north... they'll spawn forever as far as I can tell so you can spend some time farming them for xp, gear, and money. I'd just approach the bridge at the south west end of the camp and there would always be one or two bandits. Kite them around feathering them for bow skills or bash them about the head for melee, loot them then back off and more will show up in a minute or less.

They're not an infinite spawn; they're a finite number, but are being reassigned to specific areas by the game. So when you kill several guards, others will move to take their place, but eventually the reserves will "dry up" and those locations will be unguarded. I'd estimate there's about 30-40 guards at that camp, but I've only cleared it twice so far and haven't actually counted the kills.

THREE WAYS TO BOOST YOUR LOCAL REPUTATION: 1) When trading the local shopkeepers(selling or buying), then "haggle" abou t the price, yet DON'T earn more all the time; give little MORE. JUST A LITTLE BIT. They'll be very gratefull and it will influence the whole town. 2) Talk a bit to the beggers/refugees in Rattay. Strangely you can't give them money, but just paying them attention, well boost you rep. 3) If ypu get caught stealing/picking locks, ralk your way out of it or pay the fine if it is 60 or below (if you can). Otherwise; ,ACCEPT JAIl. Just make some cofee/tea (IRL) while you're doing your hard time. Even public murder won't get you more than about TEN DAYS somehow!!!! Even if you slay thw vicar in Uzbitz. And your rep will improve once realeased! BONUS ADVICE (which you knew already): Dont fight the guards when you get busted - just surrender. Or they WILL murder you for ANYTHING!

well first time I tried out a grind stone I noticed that something was off with my sword after wards. Took me a while to realize but I actually ruined it on the grindstone, like it went from 97% to straight 0% condition… So best practice it with a spare sword that you dont need

I like to level Strength by training with Captain Benard. Choose "Practice Combos" and just wail on and don't do the combos. You can keep hitting him until you do the combos. Also when you choose this option, any injuries or life lost is healed to max. Say your like me and want to practice with a mace and Bernard kicks your ass at low lvl. Well, after he kicks your ass, you can choose the option "combos" and heal up, do the combos really quick then get back to training mace.

The best way to raise strength and agi is to get into a fist fight/ wooden sword practice with captain bernard. The animals run too much so you can't consistently hit them unless you corner them.

All scared players can open any door. So if you want to take somebody out of prison for a mission just hit an arrow inside his cell and he'll eventually go out, then you can speak to him without needing to do any side quest in order to get the key. Scuse me for my english.

Go around in the first 4 days and pick every herb you can find. Peshek has 1000 every new day and the Tanner has 230 also the trader in rattay and alchemist have lesser amounts I think 180 and 200 but this will get you at least 5000 groschen but you will have also leveled up your herbalism to the point where you can level your strength but just picking herbs is dimishes by level but low level every time you bend down you will get 1% so if your still doing this for even more days than I did you will level everything quickly. Not only that but the money, reputation, charisma, speech and everything else you need is readily available right in rattay.

Always repair the stuff you want to sell first and make sure you haggle. Once you have repaired it you get more money when you sell it. It pays for itself and helps your speech skill also
