Well this isn't really an RPG, you don't make much decisions, it doesn't have a leveling system, and minimal customization of your character. Although it is a common mistake to mix up RPGs and open world/action-adventure games like you did. Also (forgot to mention this) Final Fantasy is suppose to be a turn-based RPG not a action RPG like you thought this game was.

ichiban ohime-sama You do realize by that logic pretty much every game's a role playing game right? The role playing in RPG basically is suppose to mean that you play the role of your own virtual character and/or you can determine one man's personality (Don't confuse this with Red Dead's honor system as that just determines you reputation). Simply playing the role of a named character with a select personality is excluded since you're basically always going to be playing the role of a character like that in non-RPG games like RD and GTA and otherwise it'll just make no sense at all. Another game people often mistake for a RPG despite being an open-world action adventure game is Assassin's creed.

Given the early stages of game development shown in the dead eye clips, I'd say he was using information that was released prior to the game's launch. They later changed it to what you saw on the published version of the game so... can't really blame him :)

It is a game where you roam around freely. You choose when you start the missions or mini-games, and until then, you can just roam around as you wish and do what you want. Like GTA and Skyrim.

Just a few things for people who are confused. The game was originally planed to be set in 1908, but it changed and was set in 1911 so players could wield the high power pistol. 1:07. That clip is from a location that was removed from the game. Originally, the steam boat that John Marston gets off of at the very beginning cut scene of the game was planned to be permanently docked in Blackwater and serve as a steam boat casino. I am disappointed they removed this, would have been cool.

the trick to that is get a 2 horse wagon shoot the bear then role a wheel over it and go to skin it, it doesn't go into the skinning animation get back on wagon repeat

What was everyone's opinion of the newer aged weapons. Newer in that timeframe I mean. Like that German Luger looking thing and the high action pistol that looks like a gun you would see today? I only ever used the revolver becuase they reflect the old west better then those other guns. Double Action and Le Mat revolvers are the only ones I use once unlocking them.

high power pistol isn't actually the 1911. the slide is different, extends over the web of the thumb. making it the colt 1903 high power i think. basically the gun the preceded the 1911, but looked really similar.
