This video is the best I have seen yet. I have a PR-650 Entrepreneur and the hat hoop. I was able to do one hat flawlessly. I tried on another hat, I think it is called a trucker hat, and once I got it on the machine and hit the trace button the part of the frame holding the brim hits the machine and causes the frame to dislodge. What am I doing wrong? Can you please help me figure out what the problem is? Thank you so much for any information or advice you an offer.

That's an interesting one. Can't say that I've had it happen, may just be because I haven't done a cap like the one you're describing. Maybe it has something to do with the proportions of the cap? I would try re-framing the cap and make sure that the brim is properly secured with the "cake tin" looking holder and make sure the brim of the cap goes between the gap in it. If you still struggle you may have to adjust the cap frame slightly. there should be three screws on the left hand side of the "cake tin" flappy part. Don't remove the screws, but loosen them and see if you can make the cap fit any better than it already does. Also, ensure that the frame is mounted to the machine properly, as there is a third plastic wheel at the bottom that needs to be engaged when putting it onto the machine, unlike on the cap mounting part. Let me know how you get on.

I have been struggling with my caps for months! Not once have I seen instructions for how to make the adjustments with the Allen keys! It has completely changed everything! I was ready to sell my cap setup!

There is a white plastic piece on the back of the jig on top, Is that supposed to be lined up with the center line of the frame?

Hi Rachel, Just put the wide cap frame on, followed the book and watched your video but still getting a popping noise and broke 2 needles, any advice - thanks
@SewingMachines_UK Жыл бұрын
Hey! There is always a sort of hollow noise to some extent when embroidering caps. What this sounds like to me is an issue with the type of needle possibly, it could need to be a thicker needle as maybe the cap is too thick for your current needles. Alternatively the cap could have some sort of reinforcement that is causing issues! If it isn't either of these issues then without seeing it I'm a little unsure, I'm afraid. Let me know how you get on!

how many years did you study to learn this?

I've been in the business for a few years as well as an avid sewer/embroiderer, which definitely helps. So the answer is, I'm not sure exactly, but a while, haha. (If you mean just the cap frame specifically, then just an afternoon, it's not too hard when you get used to it!)

I struggle with registration at times and the constant flexing of the shape of the hat so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong?
@SewingMachines_UK Жыл бұрын
Hey! Do you mean to say that the machine isn't aware of the frame being attached? If so, it could be attached incorrectly (if it is attached correctly, it could be a sensor issue with your machine). As for the flexing of the cap, that doesn't sound normal either, it could be the type of cap that you're using. I've never had any issues like that personally, I would just try again from scratch with a different cap and see if anything changes.

Hi, we're always looking for what people want to see and will look into doing this for sure! We may be able to do it this year, but more likely it will have to be posted in the new year! We'll try our best though.

Any advice/suggestions on how to embroider close to the brim of the cap? Bottom corners are the latest trend. The closest I can get or that the machine will allow, is about 1 1/8”. I have an Entrepreneur Pro X PR1055X
@SewingMachines_UK2 жыл бұрын
I believe that there are other cap frames available from brother. It may be the case that these would give you the ability to embroider closer to the brim, however I have no personal experience with these. The flat brim looks promising, but you may have to look at examples of the work done here on KZbin to see if it fits your needs. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

What is the name of this cap hoop. I have this embroidery machine but my cap hoop is different. Tia

There are 3 different types of cap frame. The one we have here if the standard 'cap frame', there also exists the 'wide cap frame' as well as the 'flat brim cap frame'. You probably have one of the latter two.
