Regarding the Fairchild channel F cartridges "looking" like an 8-track cartridge: at least some of the Channel F cartridges WERE 8-track cartridge shells that were crudely modified to fit the circuit board for the games.

You did great work researching everything! I know I'm deep in the rabbit hole, I keep learning new things about old games. Thanks for the video!

I remember reading a very early interview that Some people claimed Pac-Man was inspired by a slice of pizza. And the creator said that’s a great story. I wish I came up with that. And then that’s what he started claiming..

I hope there is a follow up to this that covers more video game firsts. I was eagerly hoping the Microvision - the first handheld console would get a mention. I've played it before and it's quite primitive - but it is quite interesting that it came out about a decade before the GameBoy.

Finding the whole Star Wars movie done in ACSII chars hidden in Microsoft's terminal app on Windows is one of the my favourite easter eggs. It used to be really easy to run but takes a little more work these days but you can still get it.

While the 1940 "Nim" was not a video game, it WAS a computer game, However "Tennis for two" WAS a video game as it's play was on a CRT screen. So video topic starts a 1:08

Magnavox did not have a "partnership" with Philips; they were OWNED by them. Magnavox (and Norelco) were the brand names that Philips used for consumer products in the North American market.

Is that an easter egg? Kinda feels like a cheat code. Either way, great video. Well done.

I would not call the 1940 Nim to be a VIDEO game because...No video! It IS a COMPUTER game though.

I had a chance to buy a closeout 10-in square picture disc of Pac-Man fever for $4. Boy, I wish I had that I'm not sure how valuable it is nowadays but I really loved Pac-Man and I wish I had it now.

According to discogs there's an 8" square picture disc that's worth anything between US$20 and US$60, depending on condition. Looks like you would've made a _bit_ of profit.

4:16 Iwatani figured out women felt "excluded", yet he called it Pac-MAN... and it took almost 2 years for a 3rd party to create "Ms.Pac-man", the real woman's character... the problems being logically why is she "Ms." instead of "Mrs.", and the legal issue of not actually acquiring the trademarks at any point before 2019(when AtGames picked them and Pac-man Jr up for a steal). The latter is probably related to Namco themselves having bankruping and selling to Bandai, who just assumed they owned everything.

just wondering: why did you call this channel "almost something" rather than "video game history" or something more on-the-nose?
