I use a foam block and stick pins up through the bottom. I can put several interlocking blocks together to create a scene - like little animals standing around a Christmas tree.

Thank you so much for the tips! I was struggling to make my tiny wool doll stand on its own and because of its design, the needle base is not ideal. Plus, I don't wanna buy a new one so the pin trick works wonder for me! Btw, I used the classic pinboard's pin and it's still somewhat large compare to the doll lol
