I am now 51. My first PC was 4 77 Mghz machine. I used to be ahead of the curve nerdy guy. Taught hundreds of people. Lost time and money with people who were smarter than me. I have done pretty much everything there was to do in IT up untill 2010. I have built, migrated datacenters, databases, web development, Network Architect. You name it. I always loved Data and Databases. This was something came naturally to me. Then life happened. I know I can still do exciting things. AI modeling etc but I dont find motivation in me anymore. I am A Jack of All and Master of fucking Nothing type of guy. Only advise to you all kids out thete. Focus and if you want to do anything tomorrow, do it today. You will get old like me so quick your head will spin. Believe me. the kid inside me still believe but reality tells me something else.

No need to worry about your age and experience bro. I for one, who believes age is just a number. I know many people who started their ventures at 50+ or 60+ are equally successful like their counterparts in their 20's, 30's or 40's. In some cases they did even better. At young age you lack wisdom, experience and vision but only enthusiasm and energy (Likes of Siraj are exceptions, though), but at later matured age, reverse is the case. Only we need to feel little enthusiastic about the things around us and energy automatically comes. So no need to feel depressed, once you overcome this (passe) period of demotivation, AI might be the best thing that have ever happened in your life. Probably you would be master at AI, for a change this time. By the way, I'm in my mid 40's worked as Java Techie for a long time, had the same demotivation problem. But recently, I overcome that jinx, and started learning/working on AI. Now I'm motivated and would really want to have crack at it. Best of Luck to both (All) of us. Hope this helps!! :-)

@@samhouston2000 Yup. Both of you are right. Don't leave things you could do today for tomorrow and age is just a number. I don't lose motivation but I am a master procrastinator. I'm so lazy. That's why I want to make powerful tools like AI/Robotics to help me. About June last year I tried meditation and I found that I actually became more productive and felt less lazy. I'm so lazy I find I can't even meditate some days lol, but I've noticed that meditation does have a residual effect that lasts for a couple of days so I don't really have to meditate everyday. Anyway it took a while but it's working for me maybe it will work for you too.

Nice video. I've come to AI from automated traiding bots when I was 16 two years ago. I was interested in traiding at that time and somehow I was interested in brains and as Software development is one of my hobbies I thaught about a bot, which functions like a brain and is able to trade stock markets. Some days later when I build my own algorithms I found out that AI is a real thing and it totally caught me. The most valuble thing I got from automated trading bots are the skills concerning AI. In the meantime i got some bots running and actally made a little bit of money out of it but the skills are priceless
@ameynn6 жыл бұрын
Hi , your works sounds interesting!! Can you pls tell me more about the bots ?
@crykrafter6 жыл бұрын
@@ameynnYes. First of all i made a matrix multiplication bot that took the market data as inputs multiplied with matrices and improved over multiple generations with evolution like algorithms. It was really slow in learning and heavily over fitted after some time. I had way to less training data and the algorithm learned like one or two trades over the whole time span. After some hard grinding and a lot of learning i finally found out about backpropagation and made my own predictor model in c#. It was structured like a nn but run in c# on my cpu. Worked well but the training was still slow (had to train it for about one week and created more than 20gb of backup data in case the model would over fit). With that bot I made some good trades on a demo account at a borker but it was impressively slow in trading. It made like one or two trades per month (and I had my pc running all the time). I made a real account with 20€ and made it go up to 24€ in 3 month but it wasn't worth after all because there was still a big risk of loosing some money as my training environment showed me and my energy costs for the pc are also way higher. I wanted to make it train faster so I learned Python and Tensorflow and made some predicting models again. Quiet good outputs but just for short terms and I have no desire to sit all day in front of my pc to do trades. In fall this year I started learning more about Q-learning because it gives me a policy witch chooses what action to take and is good to use. I haven't used it for real trading but Im making good progress, using Keras and Python for development now. I'm happy that I made it from a 16 year old with just good knowledge in c# to a prospective AI and data science expert. This year I start my bachelor in computer science with AI and statistics for data science as side subject.
@ameynn6 жыл бұрын
@@crykrafter wow ! That's a nice journey. You will do well in it. I am a computer engineer having lots of interest in AI and trading. So, planning to start making bots which will place trades for me. I guess python with Kerry is a good way to start, isnt it ?
@crykrafter6 жыл бұрын
Amey Naik it‘s a complicated way. You should better start understanding how to train nn for digit recognition like the mnist data set and when you want to start with reinforcement learning you should start with openAi‘s gym. There are a lot of basic tutorials about in witch they explain how to build your models and how to train them plus you don’t have to care about the data or the environment of your bot. I also did some image recognition and openai gym stuf before starting in reinforcement learning this year to have a good understanding of how to do it. If you got any questions feel free to leave them here.
@waynefilkins83945 жыл бұрын
@@crykrafter I have been reading about nn's but haven't really created one yet. I'm really excited to create a really advanced NN but all the tutorials are about image-recognition. How do you use the price data for a NN? Do you just use price and time to set up your matrix? There's also high/low/open/close which makes it more complex. Any help would be appreciated!
