I started to really read English books about one and a half year ago, when I got series of three books for christmas. It was realtivly esay American English ( Magnus Chase by Ricl Riordan) Fantasy series and I too had read it before. Got through this and went on to a five book series by the same author, but this time in audiobook form on KZbin ( I had no money for five books). After finishing this I paused reading in English. Untill fall. Thats when I discoverd a audiobook of the Hobbit for free. And I thought back to one person who was very good in English but wouldn't read Tolkien because of his old fashioned, unusual writing style. However I finished the Hobbit with no problem and went straight to Lord Of The Rings, which was a bit more challanging but ok in reading difficulty. The I stumbled across a book called the Silmarillion in a book shop in England. I went a bit nuts, bought it and then realised that it was apparently on the reading level of Moby Dick. I decided to get through anyway and I finished it with the help of a podcast in 14 days. I am now also at a level of understanding English that I can read/ listen to books by Jack London ( eg.: eople of the Abyss). I went from thinking that to shrugg is a synonym to to nod to my English teacher telling me that I have a deep knowlege of the English grammat and that I have rich vocabular. A huge huge part is because I read and listen to so much different books, but also movies, videos of any kind etc etc.

Hey James. Thx for all that contend of yours. It's really helpful. I personally used your videos to learn Dutch, which I stated one and a half years ago. I'm in the process of doing my state exams in Dutch to get started for the university. Your videos really helped me to access a new level of englisch as well as a new language. I'm far of calling myself being done with english or Dutch, but it's a starting point in both. Thank you and have a nice day :)
