Cheers for posting mate. My Great uncle Stoker Walter Mansfield went down with HMS Charybdis. One of many young boys straight out of training who went to sea and never returned. Not forgotten. JM

Is that unknown wreck the SS traffic?, That had a triple expansion steam engine.

She didn’t have triple expansion engine she had the much older compound steam engine. It is likely traffic was broken up by the Germans.

@@randomuser9883 There is an entry on the internet somewhere that says she torpedoed. I can't remember where on the internet, but if true the wreck might be out there. Likely she was scrapped and there are no records.

@@charlieboye2009 it is true though that she was torpedoed and sunk but the Germans later refloated the wreck and then scrapped it due to the damage.
