I started on a 1/4 size just about my 7th birthday. It didn't feel that small then, to be fair. LOL It was such a big deal to finally get up to playing on a full-size instrument.

I had Twoset sign my first violin at their last world tour... but the signatures are fading rip so make sure you find a way to preserve those sigs- have fun at the tour!!!

@@Ga_Lie the signatures would fade faster if they were on the chin rest since you'll be applying friction on it and perspiration makes it worse. If you want it to stay, you could go to a luthier and ask if they could apply a thin coat of varnish. That should keep it looking new

My brother and I played the first movement. It was our parlour trick. This gave me the feels. There is such a connection when you are making music together like that and that is what I miss. So nice of you to play with him Ray and give him the memory of a life time. That was the beginning of the Prokofiev I think? Probably first time that was ever played on a 1/16 or 1/8 violin. (I started on 1/8)

I love it when I see the greats today mentor and encourage the next generation of musicians. A few years ago I went a Gala celebration concert at the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and we had the amazing honor of hearing the great Itzhak Perlman play Mendelssohn's violin concerto. As amazing as that performance was, the highlight of the night in my opinion was the finale where they had the youth orchestra perform. As the kids are shuffling out onto the stage and who do we see along with them is the maestro himself to play along with them. Just think how much it will mean to those kids when they can say that they were able to play along side Itzhak Perlman.

I saw his busking video and was so proud of him standing in public playing while earning money for a ticket to see your recital. That's what I call real dedication and love for violin and music!
