In this project, Miles started in one direction (which I thought was really dope!) - and for a while it seemed like he finished it all off with the LoFi / J Dilla-type beat.
But then… He said nah I’m gonna flip it into a whole new trap vibe😮💨 Then he switched to a totally different DAW for that… and the rest is history!🥵
Everything you hear was 100% performed and produced by Miles.

BACKSTORY:
Miles is only 7, so we normally don’t post his original music like this publicly - out of respect for his journey as a maturing artist.
Also, normally we don’t record him at work when he’s producing original music - out of respect for his personal and creative space.
(Miles was ok with us recording and sharing this particular session with you.)
That said -
For some sessions when Miles is re-producing a cover song, I’ll ask him to teach me what he’s doing and that’s why you’ll usually hear him explain his production choices in our videos. But for this one, I just left little guy in his element and let him cook!
So this gives you an idea of what it’s typically like watching Miles at work.
Also - To answer a couple FAQs:
1) Miles’s parent’s aren’t music producers. As Miles figures this software out, we learn a little from him. But Miles is the only one that produces music in our family.
2) There are two main software platforms that Miles is using here. (They’re both called “Digital Audio Workstations” / “DAWs,” and they are what professional music producers use). In the first half of the video Miles is working with a DAW called Ableton Live. Then, when he flips the first beat to a trap beat, Miles switches to a different DAW called Logic Pro
