Pardon my ignorance, but I thought fragrances have a shelf-life (albeit a long one). Wouldn’t having multiple back-ups of a bottle among a 1000+ collection mean that some of those would eventually not smell the same or diminish in quality? Just curious. Thanks

Good list! On its own it’s awesome, but I have been layering ADG Profondo over Polo Deep Blue Parfum this summer. Love that combo especially in the heat. The tropical fruitiness of the Polo working with the bright citrus and oceanic and mineral aspects of Profondo are awesome together. The whole Chanel Allure Homme Line is fantastic. Classy and timeless. Prada LR black and Spicebomb Extreme are both such a great cool weather scents.

I stumbled across the L'Homme Ideal Extreme quite by chance in a perfume shop in Zaporozhye, Ukraine. No idea in the least, no preconceptions. This must be going about three years ago now. I was still (speaking of "extreme") extremely new to all this, didn't really have much vocabulary or mental signposts for it yet. Took a spritz of the tester and...WOW. Instantly transfixed. I was a prisoner, no choice, had to have it. It's just an amazing creation.

Nice choices! I appreciate that most of these are affordable and easy to find, not everyone has a heap of cash to spend on PDM or Amouage. Boss bottled elixir was a love at first sniff for me. Dunhill icon took a few wears to get used to it, then it was a love. Similar vibe to Hermes TDH edt.

I own the original dunhill icon and it does not smell like grapes soda to me. It does smell kind of fizzy but it does not smell like grape soda. I mean people say that cool water and GIT smell similar I don't get that either. They don't smell similar to me but everybody's knows is different The original Don Hill icon is absolutely fantastic though

Prada Luna Rosa Black is really hard to critcise ! Save, probably, that it could be too loud for some guys. Chanel Allure Homme Sport has that fabulous opening freshness that I cannot resist. But I would be much happier if that underlying sweetness was not that prevalent ! The same sweetness that is important note in Allure Homme. It is not heavy but I have some hard times with it. Missoni Wave is all just that - sweetness - and lacks that opening freshness of Allure Home Sport completely. When I tried Aqua di GIO Profondo in the shop I liked it. I bought it and took it home with a smile on my face. A few weeks later I used it properly... and wasn't happy with it?!? Not at all. Truth to be told, I tried several fragrances when I was in my favourite shop, that time. So, my nose was probably saturated and not dicerning enough anymore.

I got into fragrances about three years later than you, on the calendar, and MANY years later than you in age! 😄 I'm way at the opposite end of the age spectrum, and its associated tastes, from you, but I've really enjoyed watching your development both in terms of your expertise in fragrances and your confidence in front of the camera. If I had submitted that lable for my highschool graphic design project my art teacher would have failed me. The font is bad. The graphic is bad. The layout is bad.
