Acts 1-5 took place on April 13th, 2009, but if each year Homestuck existed the characters aged, then yeah. They would be 20 years old. In Act 5 Act 2, One of the panels says "Happy April 13th, 2009, everyone!!!!!"
@therealquade8 жыл бұрын
Also this just made me understand the ending. John got the power to edit canon and at the end the characters left homestuck, but vriska trapped lord english in homestuck and sealed him there. Hussie is not just lord english, he is caliborn, lets face it, in universe they both suck at art think they're better than they are, flounder around aimlessly, and created a trashheap of a comic, and now that the characters(fandom) can move on from homestuck, lord english(hussie) is forever trapped with it and is unable to escape. Lord english represents hussie's fear that he will never escape from the looming shadow of homestuck that hangs over him. that he will never best it.
@tabificrevendicate84348 жыл бұрын
+therealquade well, they trapped him in sburb/they trapped his presence in a instance, so he cannot time travel no more
@therealquade8 жыл бұрын
Teh Randoms no no no. They trapped him in cannon. as in within "homestuck". Go back to the early parts of homestuck, act 1, the word "HOMESTUCK" is floating in the sky as a physical object. John's session, Karkat's session, Jane's session, Kankri's session, The dream bubbles, and the horrorterrors, are all a part of the homestuck universe. You have to remember, Caliborn wrote Homosuck, which is basically a fucked up act 1, and he had the capacity to interfere with homestuck cannon, because he was outside of it. That's why the act progression was messed up because parts of the narrative are outside of cannon, just like hussie, and doc scratch, they are outside of the homestuck cannon. Then john went outside of it, which is how he was able to jump around at will. This is effectively what caliborn, hussie, and doc scratch had, except they're an idiot an author and impartial respectively, meaning none of them can use it practically to accomplish a task. John on the other hand can. This is how they "won" in the end. They stripped caliborn of this power, trapping him within the narative itself. Everybody else is free to leave. I mean, we have to remember after english is killed, the horrorterrors are just going to eat all the dreambubbles and everyone still dies just as horribly. This resolves that quite nicely too, because the horrorterrors are contained within the narrative of homestuck as well.

Fraven 413 I kinda have to disagree, at least from my experience. I did find the first act pretty slow, and it really took a long time to actually get into it. But acts 2, 3 and 4 were really what got me to really like it. Act 5 had to grow on me, since at the beginning I really couldn't care less about the trolls (since the human story was "cut" at a very important moment), so it took me a while. I felt like crying during the whole thing and I think I know why, I've just started homestuck and I've noticed how it grows on people. There's just so much feeling behind everything, the comic is so different from any other. And a lot have grown up with homestuck it's simply amazing.

The webcomic may be over but the fandom shall not!! Everybody we sold our souls to Hussie, We should all be loyal! Dont forget about this wonderful experience and be sure to share to other poor unfortunate souls.

Atomic Bonsai...really sounds like it came out of Naruto :/
@TeachAManToPhish8 жыл бұрын
+Mathemagics Never seen Naruto, never will lol. I picked it because I wanted something upbeat and exciting to be the second song, and it happened to be about the perfect length. Plus I like the song a lot. But if I had more time to pick music, I probably woulda gone with something different.
@stormichigura8 жыл бұрын
+Mathemagics mythoughts exactly
@koopakape8 жыл бұрын
+Mathemagics That's exactly what they were going for, I'm pretty sure. naruto was still pretty big at the time that song was made and frankly the mix of traditional Japanese music with hard rock in naruto's soundtrack is one of the best things about that anime. And it's a pretty good series, it just loses its way story-wise several times as it goes along, really not unlike homestuck itself lol, though HS is so wildly self-aware it hardly feels like it matters.
@BPac218 жыл бұрын
+Mathemagics the songs in strife were very specifically meant to evoke pop culture that tensei figured their respective kids would be into. heir conditioning is in the style of a touhou song and quotes tomboyish girl in love, dance of thorns has things like castlevania and fire emblem, time on my side has metallica and is in the style of music from spy films, and atomic bonsai references two specific naruto songs at various points.
@koopakape8 жыл бұрын
Lambda Bledsoe Oh yeah? man, I REALLY do not see any of those fitting the characters at all except maybe Rose being into Castlevania and Fire Emblem, and Dave DRESSING like Bond at times though it's very hard to see him actually being into that kinda stuff (who knows though?) but we got such good music out of it I hardly care.

+MLPGoji2003 So far it's only speculation. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say he'll update Homestuck with an epilogue on 4/13/2017, one year after it's end. Or maybe seven years after it, who knows?

I started reading it in the fall of 2015 and was caught up just in time to experience the finale as it finished four years ago.
