Sears National Home Appliance Sale- Just looking through the various appliances that are shown in this commercial is a nostalgia trip for me as I’ve seen lots of those appliances and ones similar to those when visiting at relatives’ houses as a kid. Law Enforcement Careers PSA- The illustration of a Police Officer at 6:51 looks like it was made on an Etch a Sketch Toy.

The graphics in the Police PSA are meant to be drawn in white. For some reason the image got inverted. i.imgur.com/eBWCMKR.png i.imgur.com/mKzq68G.png

I grew up near Santa Barbara so I know this station well. We also got all the L.A. stations too.

2:40 - This commercial hails from a time when people weren't as concerned about fast food, and stuff like burgers and pizza were allowed to be obscenely huge. (Remember the giant pizza wars of the early 90s?) I'm glad my heart was strong enough to survive such a time, because I loved it.

It is so weird yet enlightening, seeing what the world was like when you were born. Someone once gave me a birthday card that detailed what was popular in '76, but actually seeing it in living color makes it so much more relatable.

Just the month after I was born. Cool to see what was on TV then.

Very cool to see all of this stuff including the 1976 Summer Games! It's sad to see many game shows of the 70s lost and incomplete because of network tape wiping policies. Hot Seat replaced ABC's version of Let's Make A Deal.
@hrtvfan28705 ай бұрын
Hot Seat was probably one of the last ABC shows to be wiped (one of the best things one can say about Fred Silverman was that he was one of the main guys who put a stop to that practice on a network level)

2:11 - Yeah, somehow the Olympic music playing over this image of people on a fairground ride sounds a bit too "epic" for what is being shown to us...
@trudimarrapodi67225 ай бұрын
Yeah, that's pretty hilarious. They make the Olympics look like a small-town carnival. "Who will win the gold medal on the Scrambler?"

Maybe it's just me but I think 70s commercials were calmer, quieter and more subdued than they are now.

I once made an Excel database years ago of some of your channels trying to make a daily routine of watching a commercial break of the day. I would totally do such a thing again as a super fan of this channel if you need it. But I was just curious if you have such a database. Example do you have some way of looking up all of the commercial breaks you have for June 19th? My retro contributions to the world is that I run a Facebook page for my town called Morris history Club and I upload newspaper clippings of the day. I'm up to over 20,000 pictures, all organized I do have to say your channel absolutely is an ultimate inspiration

No, I don't keep any sort of database, but the youtube channel search returns results for dates included in the video description: www.youtube.com/@80sCommercialVault/search?query=june%2019th

The announcer in the African Adventure promo sounds like Lawrence Dobkin. Also, can anyone identify the music playing at 14:36?
@80sCommercialVault5 ай бұрын
If you mean the music playing under the KTLA station ID, it's the theme from "The Big Valley", the show they were interrupting for the ID.

@@80sCommercialVault Thanks for your prompt reply, and for the info, however, I was referring to the music playing in the last few seconds of the African Adventure promo. Could you maybe help there?
@80sCommercialVault5 ай бұрын
Random African stock/library music, or possibly music from the documentary they were promoting there.
