I’ve been setting up my bows for a long time now and do pretty much all of these steps…one thing I wasn’t doing was checking how the bow holds BEFORE tying the nocking points. My bow went from holding well to holding phenomenal by moving my loop up maybe an eighth of an inch. That small difference made a huge improvement on holding steady, no BS. I will forever be testing the hold before I tune everything from now on.

I set my bow up at 7 yards, fixed blade broadhead arrow a bare shaft and a fletched arrow. Last bow I set up that way with a string, I was shooting bare shafts at 70 yards. Take out all the wind ect. I used a piece of string with a bolt at the end of it , then I square and plum for the horizontal line. I always tune off the limb bolts off every bow I set up if it's possible. Great video!

This was incredible. So in depth. Thank you so much for all you do for the community. I do a similar process but moving the d loop up and down to make the bow aim better is an amazing piece of knowledge and something i will surely incorporate. Josh, do you ever move your bareshaft tune out to 40-50 yards? I have been doing that for a couple years but have recently moved away from it and started just shooting broadheads at 100. I find the bareshaft doesnt always fly like a fixed blade broadhead. Sometimes it does but other times I will have to make some pretty decent adjustments to get my broadheads just right at 100. Have you found this to be the case?
@greatlakeshuntingandtrackingАй бұрын
I like your concept of getting the bare bow to aim the best, my have to o look at around with my d loop height
@jwild5360Ай бұрын
I would suggest putting the peep in the string before your d loop height adjustment. If you notice how thin of a peep tuner it takes to move your timing a full 8th inch now we have to account for how much bigger that peep sight is and how that’s going to effect your draw length. That 1/8th change in draw length is absolutely going to change the way the bow aims.
