Actually, it is an off-road vehicle depending on the CLASS you wanted to run. Granted, there would be a few things (such as a roll cage, fuel cell and safety equipment) that you would need to race but.... Anyway, I worked on these in 1974 and for what the Bug was, it was a venerable runner. Lot's of fun, made for the poor man who wanted to race and an opportunity we probably won't see again.

It's such a shame that you sold it, such a nice Baja bug and it came from a good friend, I still have my 67 trike that I made from my brand new beatle in 67 that I bought from my money i got in Vietnam, I came home from being injured and returned home to heal, I only put about 300 miles on it and got called back to Vietnam 6 months later I was back home, back behind the barn looking at my new beatle bent and twisted up that one of my brothers had stolen and wrecked, so I turned it in to a trike, I am rebuilding it for the 3rd time

@@kma4444 ahh😖 and I'm in NC. Beautiful bug. I have a 74 Super that's pretty much bone stock. I'd like to keep it as is and find another existing Baja for a daily driver. Very nice car, thanks for posting.
