Im so glad to see the frame isnt aluminum. Ive never been able to get comfortable no matter what kinds of mods. Amd the 2 stroke is absolutely the icing on the cake. The sound the smell and the feeling of the ride is what exited me and got my blood flowing as a child and still does. Its the only thing on earth that still gives you the same buzz as the 1st time you tried it. Nothing else, no substances or anything can do that. Im super curious. Did you forge that or is it even possible to big bore a 500cc into a 700cc? Im guessing it had to be forged. Im a die hard 2 stroke and ultra comfortable wring my KTM 250SX out and the only thing that broken was the shock. Ive replaced the top end several times just to see what the newest piston was like. But nothing has ever broken on it. Its been the most reliable bike ive ever owned. Im comfortable on a 500cc but not wringing out in 4th comfy. I cant imagine a 700 and l wouldnt even try in the snow. I laughed when you said its almost winter....when theres snow everwhere. It never snows where l live. But that was hilarious.

@felixjeronimovalenzuelaper2192 Жыл бұрын
Can You explain that?
@billbrown6487 Жыл бұрын
Yes. In 1984 Maico contracted Zabel. To design their new water cooled cylinder. Zabel was known for Sidecar motocross racing in Europe. His knowledge of knowing how to make a two stroke make tremendous torque. Is what brought Maico to design their water cooled cylinders for the new 1984 models which in the states they were rebranded as a M star. That is the same cylinder set up and bottom end that is still used to this day in manufacturing the new model Maico’s. Other manufacturers purchased the rights to manufacture those engines to sell with their name on it. Zabel even did the same thing up until his passing a few years back. Look up a picture of a 2022 Maico 700. And you’ll see it’s the same motor that is in this particular bike! I own three different Maico‘s. All with this same configuration engine. A 1985 250 M star. A 1986 500 M Star. And a Merkle 320 Maico. Hopefully that helps explain my comment above. Wonderful bikes. If you ever get a chance to own one I would suggest it👊🏻💨🏁

The only true 700’s out there are the Maicos and extremely rare ATK’s, great bottom end torque, unfortunately everyone who doesn’t ride a big bore thinks you can stuff a Zabel engine into a light frame to get a fast bike, and unfortunately it doesn’t work like that. Awesome build, but take it from someone that spends much time wrenching on big bores, don’t expect to stay ahead of the pack, whether on the track, or the trail. 🏁

@@darylsmioth1904 you can throw something more dependable in there. If I were you I would go with one of the CFR450 engines or a CR500 engine. But if you stall it out in the pits you’re fu**ed. Gotta look into electric start! I can’t imagine how hard that is to start, especially in cold weather with im sure really, high octane!
