Just received an official update from 70mai, the Parking Mode has disabled without the hardwire kit. Therefore this video no longer relevant as one of the features available on 70mai A800.

Parking Surveillance feature on the camera is terrible. It has no buffering and doesn't start recording until 3 seconds after the event. If your car gets side swiped the other car will be out of the picture before the video even starts. My car is parked more than it is being driven as is the case for most cars so that's not a good thing. They updated the firmware so now the Parking Surveillance does not even work unless you buy their special 3-wire hard wiring kit to activate it... No thank you.

It seems to me there is no buffering. Recording starts only AFTER shock detection. So you will not see the action on the record.

You are correct. It will only start record when the G-sensor detected impact or collision of the vehicle. Not really a thief-proof ideal dashcam

Well the official site says that parking mode record only with gyroscope not the motion, that means only if something bump enough to the car , just then the camera start recording. Motion recording let you see accident even before someone hit you or did something with a car

Apology for the confusion. It uses G-sensor and it would only activated once there's a bump detected. Motion will not activate the Parking mode recording

Bonsoir, J’ai branché cette 70mai A800s avec le Kit Hardware original vendu avec. J’ai bien testé mes voltages en sortie de fusibles et mes tensions sont correctes pour le après contact, le + permanent et la terre. J’ai réglé la g-sensor sur “High level sensitivity”. Mon problème est que quand je coupe le contact : 1) j’ai bien le message qui m’informe qu’elle rentrera en mode parking après 5mn (jusque là ok) 2) j’attends 10mn sans rien faire à la voiture et il ne se passe rien de visible (jusque là ok) 3) je tapote le pare brise comme sur cette vidéo et il ne se passe rien ma Dashcam ne se met pas en route (m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/hInchnd_nNObbLM) ? Pourtant j’ai mis High sensitivity, est ce que ca fonctionne à l’envers il faut mettre Low Sensitivity ? (J’ai essayé mais ça ne change rien…) 4) Toujours moteur éteint et après 10mn (la Dashcam est bien rentrée en mode parking) j’ai donc depuis l’intérieur du véhicule secoué très fort la caméra et la elle se réveille bien j’ai bien le témoin lumineux rouge dessous mais elle met pratique 1mn à s’allumer et seulement ensuite se met à enregistrer mais en permanence comme si je roulait en fait… et après avoir attendu 5mn elle fini par s’éteindre en remettant bien qu’elle va repasser en mode parking après 5mn 5) je rallume mon contact et la je n’ai pas de message m’informant qu’il y a eu un enregistrement en mode parking que je peux consulter comme sur la vidéo du lien du point 3 ci-dessus… 6) quand j’ouvre mon dossier de media (sur la Dashcam ou sur l’app) je n’ai pas de vidéo dans le dossier “parking” mais uniquement un enregistrement de 5mn dans le dossier classique. J’ai donc l’impression que mon mode parking ne fonctionne pas du tout comme attendu. Sauriez vous pourquoi le mode sensitif ne fonctionne pas des qu’on secoue un peu la voiture ? Avez vous bien un message vous indiquant qu’une vidéo en mode parking a été enregistrée quand elle se déclenche en mode parking ? J’ai réalisé ce jour la dernière mise à jour disponible du 30/04/2021 mais ça n’a rien changé. Si vous avez des idées du pourquoi et comment ça fonctionne je suis preneur de vos réglages ou explications… Si l’un d’entre vous accepte d’échanger son numéro de téléphone en message privé je suis preneur car à expliquer par écrit ce n’est pas évident. The parking monitoring doesn't work for me, how did you set it up? Did you install cables as normal or not? This additional cable, where the battery is not built, or everything runs over the dascam battery

@@imjoshuawong your video is misleading because you mentioned motion detection. the G-sensor only implementation, and the lack of buffering rendered the parking surveillance feature useless as you will only see the aftermath, because recording will only start a few seconds after the impact, and you wont know what happened before that.

@@imjoshuawong I have the same problem! I installed the hardwarekit so when I turn on my car the camera turns on, I turn off the car and the camera too but I'm unable to activate parking surveillance it says I must connect the surveillance cable but the hardware kit is already installed. So its a bug as you said, right?

Update: I connected the rear camera too, after a while, parking surveillance was available so the bug dissappear BUT now when I try to connect the cameras via app it says it can't connect to the wifi so I can't download videos or chamge settings via app now. I already tried to reset the camera.

Yeap, you need to have hardwire kit installed on your car

If you hardwire the dashcam, it will only record 15 seconds only. It won't do much harm to the car battery

Some dash cams like Garmin are capable of recording 10 seconds BEFORE and 20 min after a collision detection. Can 7mai 800a do the same??

@@imjoshuawong parking mode is almost useless…i have the camera…impact will never be recorded as camera starts after the impact the recording…and sensitivity is not enough sensitive to pick up everything….sad

Nope. It uses the internal battery. The recording will only trigger when detected collision/impact on the vehicle

@@ScHiZoPhReNi74 Heya mate, it seems to be fine with battery usage. It had an internal battery that can be temporarily charged (only a 500mah battery I believe) which can last the whole night with ease.
