Do some overnight challenges like the house of fraser one, they were so sick

I have seen a double dumbwaiter similar to the one here working. I was a kid and it was from a distance as someone walked through a door. It was used for books in my city’s central library. Both sides moved continually with a stop switch in between. Appeared to function much like a paternoster.

I can smell the decaying ceiling tiles from here! 13 years of urbexing and I just know what that place smells of right away. That sharp sort of damp smell which gets right in your nose. It’s ceiling tiles :D

@@PneumatinisPlaktukas15 Must be 1970s. Things were built a lot more robustly then. Now we are back in the kit/prefab era so most parts can be pre-assembled off-site. I don't know which is better from a lifetime aspect but we are very wasteful with commercial buildings in this country.

Why are some people so protective of buildings when they are going to get demolished anyway? It's stupid!

Hi Beno, I know this building so well, (I wont name it) continually occupied since it was built in 1965 I think, by the PSA. I was responsible for having it cleared out and handing it back to the landlord, which took months, that was 2 years ago, Interesting to learn that the developers haven't moved on with it yet. That dumb waiter hadn't been used for years, nor the generator. I'm a fan if your cheap flight adventures, you should get sponsorship from Ryanair!

I figured it was 1970s but probably had some internal updates along the years. Useful info you give btw.

The building is in very good shape and would probably be great for some flats. Maybe they could turn it into some flats or a school. But to demolish it? That is just a waste of a great building. Sad that the express lifts have been modernized. It seems that lifts stay in the building for a long time then they decide to modernize and the building just gets abandoned.
