Love Tom Baker, even as a child in the 70's he fascinated me with his warm personality and slightly eccentric behaviour, he used to do The Book Tower aswell, you could listen to his dulcet tones for hours. He was great in that one episode of Black Adder too as Captain Redbeard Rum. 😂😂

Derek Griffiths and the sadly departed Brian Cant were my favourites from Play School. I was thrilled at the age of 50 to see Derek appearing in my local pantomine in Norwich a few years ago. Seeing him (still very sprightly!) I just felt about 5 years old again, it was wonderful .

The musical themes for Bod have been my internal soundtrack for my whole life - a whole parade of perfect melodies and riffs that I first heard as an infant and which still fill me with joy nearly 50 years later. I only recently thought to look up who actually composed these and was astounded to discover that it was Derek Griffiths, who is the earliest face I can remember outside my own family (along with Fred Harris, another Play School presenter of the same era). He's a hugely talented man who genuinely helped make the world a better place.

What a great, respectful, nostalgic look back at so many of our TV Stars! Jenny Hanley was my schoolboy crush and I still have two telegrams reminding me to watch Magpie as I had sent in a piece of ironstone in the shape of Murgatroyd the Magpie. It was sent to a girl that painted stones and she painted to look 'even more like Murgatroyd' as Jenny said as she held it up during Newsdesk. She sent it back to me with a signed letter! -swoons at the memory- I still have those too. Some of those included I've had the pleasure of meeting over the years were Richard O'Sullivan, Michael Palin, Bill Oddie and Joanna Lumley -Swoons again-!

I remember seeing Frank Finley the star of Bouquet & Barbed Wire back in the 70s, many times whilst shopping in Waitrose in Weybridge, He sadly passed away in Weybridge in 2016 aged 89 years. Such a fine actor & very handsome man in his day.

Thank you so much for bringing back so many wonderful memories. I left for Canada in the mid-70's and so it was great to catch up on many of the stars that I hadn't seen since then.

Thanks for another nostalgia-fest, Stu ! I remember all these actors and presenters. Probably my fave series of the 70s was "Rising Damp" so it was nice to see Don Warrington included. I think Frances De La Tour is still with us as well. Also nice to see Michael Crawford from "Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em". I thought Michele Dotrice as the long-suffering Betty might get a mention, but maybe another time. I saw Tom Baker once doing a book-signing through a shop window around 1979/1980. Once seen, never forgotten, lol.

Great video! Thanks for pronouncing Peter Purves' name correctly, something a Doctor Who channel I watch didn't manage to do! 🤦I suppose that's what happens when you say you're a Whovian but only watch New Who. 🙄 Tom Baker has to be my favourite from this list. He's a lovely man. At my first convention in 1996 I was right at the back of the queue to meet him. When I got to the door I was literally the last one left and was told to leave. From the back of the hall I heard, "Is that the last one? Let her in man!". The great man himself! I was so nervous meeting him, but he was so kind, I'll never forget that. I've met him a few times over the years at different DW events and he's always been fantastic, absolute gentleman.

After sleeping on it, I've just subscribed, because your work is excellent APART FROM the added smudges to the foreheads of much-loved TV stars of our youth. Watched a few of videos with my girl-next-door wife, met at our council estate comprehensive school when she got back from work here in the south of France. Fine nostalgia. +1
