That is a very good layered haircut, lt is not however a shag haircut. I styled hair in the 70s and a shag haircut is shorter in the crown area and gradually longer as the length permits. A shag removes the bulk of hair and allows curls the whole length of hair. Even straight the hair style is beautiful.

This is how I used to have my hair cut. I loved it! Then I couldn’t get anyone that knew what I was talking about so I have been growing it long for 10 yrs. lol. Start 1 1/2 to 2 inches longer cause I have curly wavy hair and we’re in business!

This is a very precise layered haircut. This man took his time sectioning and it very good. My interpretation of a shag cut is different though. Shag to me is shorter layers on top with a razor.

I cut them with a razor whwn the hair allows it, but I also cut them with my shears. I have a different map and approach than this.

OMG this is so satisfying to watch - seeing him snip away all that lovely long wet hair. Seems like the perfect length to cut, as it was straggly any longer. I’ve asked before and will ask again, please, please could you show us how the stylist sections and combs the hair into place at the start. Newbie stylists would love to see the techniques used to cleanly section hair, but specially long hair like this, as sectioning is a skill in itself! 🙏🏼 Keep up the great new content. Keep practing, but so much of what makes a great cut is the combing. Getting at the root and combing the hair into the section. After a while, it's fast and simple. SAM VILLA has a lot of instruction on properly combing and srctionong in his videos,.

As I watch your skills, clean sections, holding your shears correctly, cutting a guideline, plus moving your clients head in the correct position leads me to believe you at on time trained under someone special!
