If the thread goes back to thread pool, then which thread is doing rest of the processing of that thread or it's processing is done without any thread ?

Sir, if i use async in my method. On button click some actions are performing in backened with the help of async. Please guide that if during backend operation, user moves to another page then will this request be complete or it will stopped? I am new in async programming.
