I bought the Dell G3 3500 (same as in the video only with net 1660ti) November 2020. I have the problem that the laptop now has only one hour of battery life - and only when writing Word documents. Can I send the laptop ( have 1 year warranty so still until November 2021) back and get a new one in return?! What do you think, I would be happy about an answer.
@Notebcom3 жыл бұрын
It's unlikely to get a new laptop unless they can't fix the current one under warranty. If the battery is defective, then they won't do anything, unless the laptop is only 6 months old, because the battery has only a 6-month warranty. If something else is defective, they will fix it. Either way, I think contacting Dell customers support regarding this problem is your best option.

We haven't tested the Ideapad Gaming 3, though from what we know, it's a pretty poor laptop. The CPU heat can be misleading, you have to look at the heat versus the turbo clocks. A laptop my run at 70C on the CPU because the BIOS only allows it to boost to a small speed. Overall, we liked the G3 and we can't argue against it. It's so hard to say. The 1650 Ti is only like 7-9% faster than the normal 1650. Is this laptop good for extreme gaming(like 10 hours at a stretch in the weekends )?
@Notebcom3 жыл бұрын
For gaming laptops it doesn't really matter for how long you play. The only thing that could get damaged long-term are the fans, but they are generally designed to last more than 3 years of continuous use. I will share a secret with you, it's not for how long you play on your laptop that damages it, but how often. It's the cooling and heating cycle that damages electronics the most on the long run, not the amount of time they are used at full potential. They might still get damaged when you use them long-term at full capacity if they are overheating, but that's secondary. So overall, I think you can use the G3 for what you want. But for the price you are paying for it, I think the Nitro 5 or the Lenovo Legion 5 are a better deal if you can get them at a similar price and specifications.

@Notebcom3 жыл бұрын
@@asishb When it comes to reliability, personal experience can very misleading. All laptops, regardless of brand or price, have a chance a failure. The failure rate depends on several factors, like how the machine is used, how well the electronic components are assembled and how well the quality control checks are implemented. These factors can reduce the chance of failure, but they can never eliminate it entirely. Sooner are later, most laptops will fail, its a matter of time. Therefore, you can buy a costly, highly reliable laptop, and still, have it fail after six months, and you can buy a cheap laptop which usually lasts 2-3 years, but have it last more than five years. It all comes down to chance. The chance of the costly, reliable laptop to fail in its first years of usage, is far lower than that of the cheap, generic, consumer laptop. You are very lucky to have a gaming laptop last that long. All my gaming laptops failed eventually. Some after one year, some after 3 years. Whatever you are going to buy, do not expect it to last that long. The only way to increase your chances for your laptop to last longer is to buy one with very good cooling. However, most gaming laptops currently on the market have poor cooling. It this regard, I can only recommend the Nitro 5 only with the i5 processor, Lenovo Legion 5 or Acer Helios 300.
