Saarbrücken is the capital of the Saarland and is by no means a "small city". With about 180,000 inhabitants, it is listed in the TOP 50 largest cities in Germany. 😉

The way you guys capture different cities is not only beautiful, but also really shows how much you appreciate different cultures and their regional food. I am from Germany myself & felt so beautifully represented and really fell in love with my own country again. 🧡

Saying you are not vegan means that you support animal cruelty (murder in other words) and the destruction of our earth on all levels: soil, water & air for all living beings, humans included. My point is that it's better to skip the 'I'm not a vegan' part, it's something to be profoundly ashamed of. Unfortunately, in the current culture we live in, being an animal serial killer is the norm. Next time, please start with: 'I love your videos and you make me want to be vegan'. The information is out there for all of us, we just need to open our eyes, ears, minds, acknowledge the immense HARM we've created collectively and work hard on transitioning to a better world. PEACE STARTS WITH YOUR PLATE!

this is so cool to me, I lived in Perl all my life and all these pictures of the paths and nature of my home have amazed me. I have never seen it so beautiful as from the view of a tourist who sees it for the first time. It's also funny to me because I know all the people from Perl and Sehndorf that you met and I did not expect to see any known faces. I hope you had a great time and thank you for making my home look so interesting :D

I am glad to have seen differents places and landscapes of Germany I didn t know at all. I think there are so many beautiful places to see in Europe too, not too far from our home that worth a visit. The scenery is stunning and the caves and iron factory too and not useful to visit. Also the food seems so yummy and good...My husband and I had a very good moment watching your video so well filmed too, it was real pleasure ! A big hello from us from France to you both.

I love these long travel vlogs. I’m watching this before a lazy Sunday hike. I was going go to a park walking distance from me. But these beautiful scenes inspired me to take the train a little farther out and try somewhere new. You day one hike looked amazing and lush - with such welcoming people! Also this reminds me of a lecture I attended last year from Meg Lowman who is a biologist and ecologist who explores the upper layers of trees and she planned one of the first treetop walkways and helped to build many of them around the world. I’ve yet to visit one but it’s on my bucket list. Her book The Arbornaut is fascinating and talks about saving our forests and climate change, I highly suggest it and think you might enjoy!

I LOVE seeing industrial sights/museums. We recently returned from British Columbia Canada and the highlight was a shuttered mine called the britannia mine museum. Oncce the largest copper mine in the British Commonwelaht, it operated for 70 yeas and has so much history. You got to ride a train underground and see period mining tools in action, vist all the outbuildings and learn about the process of mining and highlight was to go inside the 22 story gravity fed mill that took the ore from rocks to enriched dust. This is such a great video and I bookmarked most the places for a potential trip to Saarland. My grandfther emigrated to the USA from Heillbronn, next door to Saarland and I would love to see his birthplace.

I'm actually dumbfounded how many vegan restaurants or restaurants that served some vegan dishes that you were able to find. That's amazing! I would never have thought, especially at some of the more rural places.
@GoodEatings2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I was impressed by the programme that was put together for us too. Especially when we could have three course meals that looked as lovely as dishes I've had in bigger cities. They did a great job at finding some gems for us to visit even if at some places we were eating off the menu. It's great that restaurants were open to cooking something especially for there vegan guests though. All in all we had a lovely food trip!

@krentu2 жыл бұрын
@@RJHW13 :D Why?
@RJHW132 жыл бұрын
@@krentu It rains almost daily (except this year because of the drought). Your barely see the sun, even some summers. I mean if you like fog and rain constantly then this place is for you, but for me I hate rain and miss the sun. Vitamin D deficiency is definitely what will happen if you live here long term and dont take a supplement. And after sight seeing everything it gets really boring. This video definitely seems to glamorize everything.
@krentu2 жыл бұрын
@@RJHW13 So interesting! I really like rain and fog and I am not a big fan of cloudless sky :) So I will definitelty visit Saarland! But I do understand, that living is different than visiting. I am from country with no mountains, so this kind of landscape is exotic to me too. I really liked the nature and the hiking trails I saw from Malin's video. She and Rob are masters of making stunning videos :) and I realize that social media and YT is a bit different than real life and we all naturally want to show just the beautiful bits.
@RJHW132 жыл бұрын
@@krentu That's why I think visiting and living here are to different things. I grew up in Arizona and love the warm/dry climate and living in Germany wasn't actually a choice that I would have made if I didnt have to. I can see how someone who visits may find it nice here but living here not so much.

Great video about our beautiful little state. But just for the record, as you mentioned, the Chez David restaurant is in Zweibrücken, and Zweibrücken is not in Saarland, but a stone's throw away in Rheinland-Pfalz (Rhineland-Palatinate). But you can literally walk into Saarland from Zweibrücken, because the town ends at the border between Saarland and RP, give or take 5 meters. And Saarbrücken might be small (and not very pretty) but it is our capital :-)

beautiful vlog! I was wondering about the wines though, is it common in this area that the wines are vegan-friendly? you didn't mention it, maybe it wasn't your priority and that's okay of course, but wine often is filtered with gelatine or the bladder of a fish and so many wines in germany aren't labeled unfortunately. x
@GoodEatings2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for lifting the subject! The team knew we were vegan with making the programme and the waitors knew this as well so we were well taken care of regarding finding vegan options and we trusted that they would recommend us something different otherwise. 😊

Actual the most wines in germany are filtered with Muschelkalk (a natural stone type that is vegan) we talked to a lot of wine makers in the last 3 years, and all of them said that clearing with animal products is pretty outdated😊
