I’ve built hundreds of wade saddles if it wasn’t for ray hunt a wade would be as popular as a charro saddle nowadays. Most of my clients would get along better with a swell fork. Wades use to be closer to the withers for less leverage on the horse while roping but swell forks can be built with a low gullet height like a wade.

Dead right on the leverage. Not sure if that was intended, or a byproduct of design. Either way, that's what happens. If the same construction methods were used, I am sure you could make any fork a "Wade". That further begs the question "What is a Wade?" I'm sure you know and get the point I am making. You have a SUV?

@@MaxNafeHorsemanship It was intentional and the main component of the style that drew Tom to it. Ive actually Sat in Both the Cliff wade and the Dorrance Wade. Tom Said, he liked how it was lower for roping both for the leverage and to put the horn lower, to get it out of the way more. When Hamley Made the saddle for Tom, they actually wanted to call it the Dorrance Tree but, Tom being as he was, rejected that name and told them to call it the Wade.

Tom took the Cliff wade, modified it and had Hamley build it. Ray had his wade made by Dale Harwood. You say "Better" for roping but that would depend on the Style of roping. The Larger Guadalajara style horn is better for ropers who rope rodear style and run rope on "Slick" horns but, not for the southwestern guys who tie off to their horn. Team ropers, who rope on Rubber{ Goodyear Mulehide} prefer a smaller horn, to make a quick turn and not run rope.

'Goodyear mule hide'... laugh out loud funny, my friend. Have a good day

Much of what you say I agree with. I just didn't say it in the video. Ya, the Goodyear Mulehide...LOL. Mine actually has leather wrap on it. It was the first one I have seen with leather, but I am sure others have seen more than me. Like you pointed out, there are even many ways to rope. Like most of my videos, I want to get people thinking, and your input helps.

Thank-you for your input. If you know this guy is an idiot, then you should share all your knowledge for the masses to learn from.
