It keeps amazing me how much I don't know. When I saw "flap load relief" function light, my reaction was as follows "wth is that?" Captain Brady, we are literally blessed to have you showing and explaining all of what 737 has to offer. Unfathomable amount of work and experience has gone into making these presentations.

I cover this in the "Options" section of this video. On the FMC IDENT page .1 is basic SFP and .2 is SFP with 2-position tailskid.

Great video, just to comment on the ‘’Reduced Engine Idle Thrust Delay’’. Another reason I believe why on the SFP it is reduced to 2s is for the certified data when reverse thrust is not credited for. Basically it lowers the time the engine is producing higher forward thrust.

That's exactly what I was thinking: if there's no credit for T/Rs anyway, let's optimize the residual thrust instead.

5:50 Spoiler Deflection Slide. The presentation implied that the inboard Ground spoiler (#7) deploys to 60 degrees for both SFP and non-SFP models. This is only true for SFP models. Maximum deployment of the inboard Ground Spoiler of non-SFP models is 52 degrees.

Correct, sorry if this was misleading. It was perhaps more clear in my Flight Controls - Roll video where I used a photo of an SFP and non-SFP aircraft for comparison.

Awesome video Chris. Am I right to assume the increased landing distance for an SFP (vs. non SFP) aircraft for a Flaps Up event can be attributed to the Speed Brake limit stop on landing?

Thanks for all these info! Just wonder how the SFP on NG got those spoiler deflection change with speed? AFAIK the spoiler mixer is a quite complex mechanic device. Or is the change are done on individual PCUs?

Individual PCUs. A solenoid valve in the flight spoiler PCU activates to allow supplemental spoiler travel. The solenoid valve command is removed once speed drops below 60 knots causing spoilers to move to a normal deflection.

I really love your channel, cant belive I havent found it earlier! Do you happen to know where to get the fppm manual for the 800 with SFP? I am unable to get it through my company

Better late than never to the party! Re the FPPM, your company should have MBF access, it is available for download from there. Ask your Fleet Manager or Fleet Tech Captain.

Thank you for everything that you explain and share with us, but i’ve a question you may answer. There are many companies operating 737ng series are publishing more restrictive wind limitations instead of using boeing suggested wind speeds, i can understand the environment and the other dynamic things. I’m not sure using more conservative speeds and limits are decreasing crash rates. Thank you captain.

You are welcome for the videos and website. Re your question, Boeing do not have suggested windspeeds, they have maximum demonstrated windspeeds. Boeing is a manufacturer not an operator. It is up to operators to set windspeed limits on their crew/runways.

One question. Does taking off with a static run up have any positive effect on takeoff run distance? I couldn’t find anything in documents.

If you mean setting 40% or take-off thrust against the brakes then releasing, then yes, it will have a small benefit.

It doesn't directly contribute BUT there is more scope for using higher flap settings for take-off which may lead to more overspeeds, so perhaps the increased FLL was to allow for that.
