What a nice FS model, surely the developers got it exactly right on this one. Great job on this video, showing off the model's qualities. And... even after flying the "heavy metal", you've obviously not lost the ability to hand-fly the little airplanes. That was fun to watch. I have great memories of Kiel. In the 90s I had acquaintances living there, so I visited the city and then went from there to a 5 thousand kilometer road trip of a lifetime. Best vacations ever. Cheers from Brasil.

Must say after buying and flying this aircraft this morning that it is immensely fun and rewarding plane to fly. As you said the trimming and its effect on the flight experience is wonderful, i really wish other aircraft (excepting A2A Comm) handled the same way. Being able to make the slightest inputs and trimming properly givers you a relaxing and enjoyable experience which elevates this aircraft even above the excellent standard it already is. I can honestly say that this is an invaluable addition to in the sim GA aircraft fleet. Congratz to the DEVs and thx for creating a wonderful aircraft for ppl such as myself to fly.

I can't believe someone is comparing this plane with the A2A Comanche! Oh my goodness ..... The Comanche has to be the best aircraft to hand fly in the simulator.
@coriscotupi2 күн бұрын
@@ianwilliams7740 *"The Comanche has to be the best aircraft to hand fly in the simulator"* Which doesn't make it beyond comparing with another pretty good FS2020 model. And to be fair, the OP compared the DA42 to *_"other aircraft (excepting A2A Comm)",_* so your point us actually kind of moot.

WOW! What a great flight sim. I really enjoyed the right engine out and restart procedure. Also, the demonstration with the circuit breaker reset. The right crosswind landing was a lot of fun to watch. Looking forward to more of your flight sim videos on the DA 42 and thank you for sharing.

It's a beautiful aircraft, just installed it this morning. I have a question, I got an "I Like You" warning message on my PFD. May be I was wrong, but I think I read it correctly... Is that some kind of easther egg?

It looks very sensative on the controls (or you had to much coffee). Very much like the FSR500.
@joshuaspop88656 ай бұрын
I hope not. I think the flight model of the FSR500 ruins it, for me.
@gregrudman81686 ай бұрын
The DA42 is quite sensitive in real life too. You have to be gentle on the controls.
@onecharliemike60226 ай бұрын
I'm sure it is. However, some of the controls in certain aircraft have the characteristics of flying a paper airplane in MSFS.@@gregrudman8168

When I need to "get away from it all", eliminate all distractions and hand fly the pattern for hours, at whatever airport suits me that day, in my 757. Unfortunately, that is XP12, but I will use the 777 when it comes to MSFS. I can see this twin being fun to hand fly in the mountains. Have you done an engine out, stall, into a flat spin? Curious how realistic that is.

Unfortunately msfs doesn't seem to get ground handling, ground effect, weathervaning. Hope to see improvement in fs 2024. As author said, the trim and air handling is very nice.

Might as well do IFR training in IFR conditions. After all, it is a sim. No offense. Turbulence, hand flying, in IFR, is definitely a challenge.

Hoping that Boeing goes to "active" center sticks like Diamond Aircraft. Yokes always in the way of Glass cockpits, which are here to stay.

The real IFR training sits when those two massive digital screens go dead and the only things you have to rely on are those 4 analog gauges on the top !!! 😒😒
@philippehendrickx11096 ай бұрын
That’s definitely part of it. I notice that quite a lot of pilots who learned to fly in glass cockpit aircraft lack thorough basic nav skills. ( map reading, VOR, NDB nav,…)!
@bagels3776 ай бұрын
@@philippehendrickx1109that’s why I’m happy my flight school incorporated both g1000 and basic 6pack training during my instrument rating. I enjoy the glass cockpit flying but can still fly holds and ils to mins with basic needles.

How do you do a rate one turn in the da 42 with the Garmin 1000? Any turn rate indications there? Can't find them 😅

For MEL training XP 12 Aerobask DA42 is still better, imo. The failures system, OEI procedures. ILS practice to mins with RVR and accurate ceilings and better rabbit. Etc FAA approved BATD.
@DownTheRabbit-Hole6 ай бұрын
Probably the best ga aircraft for msfs, but that bar is pretty low. A fair comparison between XP Aerobask DA42 and this one would be nice. I fly both. Very competitive. I still give the win to Aerobask due to handling and flight model, particularly ground handling waaay overdone and sensitive. Too much rudder authority.

Weathervaning on ground is way to much for skinny tail aircraft like this. Probably msfs fault. Constant caution light is beyond annoying. Needs EFB with some settings options, for example real time volume adjustment of tracks. Etc.
