Sadly, it wasn’t. Boeing decides to end the 747 program due to poor sales and majority of airlines goes to twin engine planes like 787, 777, & A350.

Years ago my brother lived in Eastern Colorado. I went out to visit him. Our highlight was going to Stapleton (back in the 80's) and going to the terminal and spotting/watching 747's takeoff and land. Boeing's Queen is awesome!

@@jefdepijper4550 Former Boeing Everett. Both B747 and A380 have come to the end of their usefulness. No more A380's being made and Boeing has final list of contracts to fulfill. It's uncertain if B747-8 Freight variant will continue. While big has certain advantages, big is also a liability. Air transport for both passengers and freight has changed. More mid-sized aircraft are what are being purchased now. B777 and B787 outsell B Jumbo.

This plane belongs to Qatar former PM Shiekh Hamad Bin Jassim AlThani , it uses Qatar Amiri callsign but never part of Qatar Amiri fleet . If you check the Reg A7-HBJ he uses first letters of his name for his privet toy .

I know this may upset some of you, but this graceful lady is the queen of the skies. The A380 looks lumbering, where this girl is graceful and beautiful curves. It's a sad day for the 747's passing...gone the way of the graceful ladies of the past...

So this video was randomly in my video feed on my KZbin homepage. However this is a stars aligned moment for me because I saw this aircraft parked at KPHX a little over a week ago (Sunday 12/4/22) assuming the Emir of Qatar or some portion of the family were actually here in Phoenix. But what I learned from this video is that the plane had to park at KPHX because oddly it was unable to be stored or parked at KLAX or any other suitable airfield in the vicinity. Anyway, what a great way to answer some of the questions I had about why the aircraft was in Phoenix and it’s origin airport. Definitely one of my favorite liveries for a B748. Gorgeous aircraft.

Die 747 wurde erstmalig 1968 in den Dienst gestellt. Als damals 18 Jähriger hatte ich sofort den Wunsch einmal in diesem Flugzeug mitfliegen zu dürfen. Bis heute ist dieser Wunsch immer noch unerfüllt. Freue mich darüber, dass dieser Jet bis heute überlebt hat und vieleicht klappt es ja doch noch. Hoffnung ..........zuletzt.
