I hope you did your research for the plants! some plants you bought was high tech so it needs more maintenance, a much more expensive light, or maybe a co2, also some plants do not do well as sand as a substrate, it would have been better if you have put some aqua soil at the bottom and sad at the top. Also, i don't know the temperature there, but a heater is a NO-NO for a planted tank, the colder it is the better. Also, about cycling, I hope you already know it, GOOD LUCK!

Hi! How are you? Oh no I didn’t do a lot of research. The store representative just said they are all beginner plants. Hopefully they’ll do okay. Next time for sure I’ll do more research. Yes I’m keeping better lighting and co2 in mind. Yes. There is aqua soil layer before the top sand. Which plants are the high tech ones so I can keep an eye on them? It’s pretty cold out here so I think the fish needs a heater but I’ll double check on that. Yes it’s cycling at the moment. Thank you so much for really taking your time to comment. Brother, you can't really replace CO2 with any liquid ferts like Flourish/Flourish Advance. CO2 and macros/micros are different needs. My advice would be to start with half the recommended dose of ferts as your plants will be growing slower without the CO2 injection and to prevent having an excess of ferts in your water column and an algae bloom. Also some red root floaters would be nice for that tank since it'll turn into blackwater really soon from the tannins.

My tank turned brown water right now from tannins and it’s looks black with lights off and yes I can see algae starting to grow. Copy. I’ll start dosing half moving forward. My Cryptocorynes already melted and hoping that they’ll still grow back! Which CO2 would you recommend? I’ve never tried using it but still interested to try! Try adding CO2 injection bro, it helps a lot with your plants! Also maybe add some moss on the driftwood.. but overall, nice tank bud!

Yes! I am definitely keeping CO2 in my radar. Saving up now for those plants to put in the driftwood. Might take a while tho but I’m super excited. Thaank you so much! 🙏🙏🙏

Never used co2 or an expensive light. It helps but not needed at all. A good substrate and a hygger light and u will have no problems. Maybe liquid fert once a week. Been doin it for years no co2. Substrate is key.

Hi! How are you? Yes you are right. I’ve never used a CO2 before with the other tanks and plants grow just fine. I’m still curious tho how much it will help. Maybe in the future I’ll try but no plans anytime soon. Yes! I think I’ll try to get a Hygger light. I’ve heard good stuff about it. The Marineland stock light is not as bright more blue ish.
