Mods I've done on my qh12r: 1) Rare earth magnets on oil plug to keep metal from circulating in the engine oil 2) Rare earth magnets on the hydraulic oil reservoir drain plug 3) Added jump battery termials to the front to easily jump battery and add a temporary electrical accessory such as a winch 4) Added an external hydraulic filter and hydraulic oil cooler 5) 100lbs rear counter weight 6) added a spring to the throttle arm from which the cable is connected to allow better throttle control 7) added ATP 205 reseal to engine oil to keep the engine gasket from leaking along with high milage full synthetic oil 8) added a flexible 200 watt solar panel to the top of the roof to keep battery topped off or to run an extra fan (held on by magnets) I am in the process of digging out a half acre pond (gonna take a while lol) and am thinking of building a dirt converyor belt to move the dirt to where i want it. Was using my riding lawn mower to haul dirt away with a dump cart, but i have found this to be more time-consuming than i would like. Overall, i am very pleased with it. It has exceeded my expectations so far.

Thank you for the ideas 💡 that’s going to be a nice size pond and a real good idea with the conveyor belt 🙂

Your hydraulic fluid is low. Mine does better when fluid is between the two bumps in the middle. Temp is the red mercury line in center which shows about 50 degrees.

now you got me double checking tomorrow but to be fair it was a guessing game to me. i just filled it up to the temperature of outside when cold 🙂

There is sae and what i call backhoe controls. If you have a key swithch and dont wount to start. Put a push button to start. To help heat problem on fuel. Can install a fuel tank off ebay for around 100.00. You can cheak the hydraulic pressure. Or adjust up a 1/8 of a turn up to help tell u get to your needs . I use coolant hose to cover up hydric hoses. If woundering on how long. B & M excavation on KZbin has put 900 hour before he had to replace his motor. He replaced with the 15.8 hp

Thank you for the information i switched i think to the sae control pattern that i was use to i just couldn’t remember what it was called i had a brain fart. i haven’t had any problem with the gas yet but i definitely got to get them hoses covered 🙂

If you run it as intended against the governor it will cool better oil better and last longer. If your using it on a hot day just remove the rear cover. That little engine has no oil filter change the oil use a high zinc oil like ZL1. Your not down on pressure the front blade is over centering . Its just simple reasoning there yah al .
