James you will never go wrong with Ingersoll Rand Products

As funny as it might look. The two employee's loading have to do things safely and carefully, to protect themselves and the customers vehicle and without damaging the compressor as well. They don't want to get hurt at work, and they have an employer to answer to if they schmuck the customers vehicle. So they were cautious and took their time. Safety is the number one priority. That being said; The kids did an amazing job too.

Hi James, I think I told you, but here it goes again, your girls are AWESOME, not only they work great, they can take command of a situation no problem, and it seems the boys around them are them are top of the line also, I see so many kids around that can't even screw a bolt right... your about to become the "help" around while they drive the show....lollll!!!

I gotta say James, If only my daughters did the same. So proud of them as teachers and mothers of my lovely grandchildren and proud of my sons in law but, you know, still to have the girls to help out in the shop. Love the show mate from Oz x

James, I've had an IR compressor for 4-5 years now without any problems. Mine was bought from TSC and is a 80 gal. tank, 5hp, 2 stage. This thing will run 24/7 ( says IR ). It's in my basement and piped to my garage (with a splitter for inside use ) where I use it for all my mechanical work and recently for replacing windows and siding, so it really gets a workout. Keep it clean and full of oil and it'll last for years. Don't forget to drain the tank daily.Thanks for the video.

I have Ingersoll Rand TS4N5 80 gallon 5hp two stage , Great machine ! Hope yours is still serving you well .
@markwgundert42513 жыл бұрын
That is an excellent compressor. I've owned mine for about 18 years and it still runs flawlessly after lots and lots of hours of use. One recommended modification is to replace the factory tank drain valve with a 90 fitting to a short pipe and and a ball valve that is easier to access. I drain water from mine daily before each use.

I've worked in the tool industry for 40 years, and all you need is a NEW compressor pump and someone will have a great setup. Check with IR about a new pump or with NAPA auto parts, or WW Grainger for a new pump

I just reinstalled my Kobalt 60 gallon in my shop after epoxycoating the floor. I tipped it over and installed locking casters on the skid to keep it a little mobile.

James, you made a wonderful choice. I am on my second air compressor the first Ingersoll lasted me 18 years and I am now on my second. I also have mine outside in a shed. Glad to see you are using synthetic oil. Winter’s in Colorado can be extremely cold, The synthetic oil helps during cold weather.

I have one, it’s heavy, but I was able to load it and unload into my van myself...slowly and carefully! But I did it!
@chrisbreidenbaugh36974 жыл бұрын
Bartlebee Smithers same here. It was heavy, but a good sized man can do this by himself. Just be careful once it’s off the pallet. Very top heavy.

The old tank fails nothing, set it up parallel with the new one and you have twice the tank capacity

Thinking the same. Maybe the additional footprint wont allow.

You should have added a drain option to the bottom of the tank with a shut off so you can easily drain the tank out of the shed. You can still do it now it is just harder to access.

I don't know about tank capacity but that thing is very quiet even before you close the door, I have two compressors, a little cheap job and my big one and both of them are a lot louder than yours. good luck for the future.

Cool video. Do you have a switch inside the shop to turn it on/off? Would also love to see a video of your dust collection set up. Having that stuff outside the shop is a great idea

Great video, thank you James! However, I've always read that these should be transported vertically. Don't know if there's any reason/truth behind that.

IR compressors have been around for awhile and it should hold up okay. How did you determine you needed a 120v 60 gallon unit?
@mgrotowski6 жыл бұрын
Nice compressor! I have read that you are routinely supposed to release the moisture from the bottom of the tank so it doesn’t rust. Do most people do this? Is it a big issue?
@larndavies69546 жыл бұрын
mgrotowski yeah it really is, if you never drain the moisture out eventually you will loose tank capacity due to the volume of water inside plus obviously internal rust can cause major structural weakness. So do it regularly. I added a ball valve and 2mt of hose to drain directly outside on mine. I do it weekly or more often depending on how much I'm using it
@mgrotowski6 жыл бұрын
Larn Davies , I’ve seen the automatic valves for about $25. Seems like that may be an option?
@larndavies69546 жыл бұрын
mgrotowski definitely a good idea .saves remembering to drain it.

Poor installation. It needs a bigger area to draw air from. Also a real bad idea to have it in such a dusty area. So many don't in your installation. People beware!

I have the same unit. Mine is a good 15 years old though. Not sure why the IR guys had such a hard time loading it. I ordered mine from Home Depot and me and one guy loaded it up into my Expedition. I even got it out by myself (with an appliance dolly). I actually built a box out of 3/4" ply that the unit sits on, Ir raises it a good foot or so off the ground and it's where I have installed an automatic tank drain that spits out the tanks water every once and a while.
