Thanks for the podcast Masa with Asami! Great stuff as always! For me, the easier way to represent と言う is via quotation makrs, as if everything before the と言う is just being somehow quoted or referenced. In English, its easy to think of it literraty - quotation particle と　＋　言う　, which gives us something like "speaking of..." と言うことで　ー " having said all of this..."

Actually, "～という" is a versatile expression used in various contexts such as quotations, explanations, and conveying information, making it very difficult to explain concisely in a single episode. The phrase "ということで" can be translated into English in a similar manner as you mentioned.

いつも本当にありがとうございます。「っていう」を使っても、別に問題があるわけではないんですけどね！例文ですが、１は良いですね！２も「という」については良いと思いますが、「そうを忘れる」は「それを忘れる」としたほうが自然ですね！

Thank you for your comment. Since I don't know your level of Japanese, it's quite difficult to answer this question precisely. However, if you have any specific questions about Japanese, please ask them as other learners do, and we'll answer as much as we can. Additionally, although this isn't "tip" specifically, it's something I think helps language learning in general: after mastering the basics of simple Japanese grammar, immerse yourself in the language as much as possible at a level you can understand. Whether it’s our podcast, children’s anime, or anything else, expose yourself to as much Japanese as possible.
