Awesome Love that Tan interior Really Like seeing car restored like this and Finally someone who puts together a late 70’s Trans Am Video with A Great Soundtrack Perfect Music For The Car can’t hardly watch the Videos from the Trans Am Grand Nationals want to see The Different Trans Ams every year it’s like the soundtrack doesn’t at all go with The Cars and what they stand for It is kinda like music if you were walking through cemetery and every year the same. So Great Job Trans Am is Rock n Roll

I appreciate you showing the stages of the resto. I've got ALOT of work to do on mine. I'm trying to turn my '77 Formula into a 9/11 Memorial car I'm calling the "Freedom Firebird Project."

I’ve been drooling over this video since the early 2010’s, and kept coming back to it for motivation while I finished my own 77’ resto mod. Now I watch it again, and do a quick search for Jason Daugherty, PA. Apparently, we got convicted for running a chop shop between 2006-2009 and was washing VINs. He’s now an imprisoned felon. I hope Bill Boshnik didn’t get one of these washed VINs. Very upsetting.

Fortunately he did not swap my VIN. I think I got one of his last "legit" restorations before things went downhill for him

Great looking car and even greater job restoring a classic. I have a very clean 1977 TA with the same interior, brand new, and plan on having it painted in starlight black with S.E decals. Hopefully it will look like this one. Thanks for restoring an important part of automotive history.

Nice job. Alot of work and patience. I am restoring a 1986 Black Corvette. I thought I had it bad. Buddy, you had alot of rust repair, cutting welding etc. I have none of that to do to the vette. I give you alot of credit for having the patience to see it thru. Good Luck with that beautiful Trans Am.

Good work on the T/A. I've got a '77 Y82 as well that is in a never ending state of restoration, it seems....like 23 yrs. worth! Lol By the way, if you're gonna overlap music, make sure the two charts are at least in the same key. They're about a half step off from one another...that's like drinking beer and a milkshake at the same time!

Thanks for the good wishes. Luckily, there was very little rust-through. Most of that rust was surface rust that was just sanded out, down to the bare metal.

Nice job on the restoration. The 1977 Trans AM's used gothic style lettering which you have on the car. Most restorations use 1978 decals which have a wider, more modern look. However, you do have a 1978 style hood scoop installed which has a higher profile. The 1977 hood scoops had a lower profile.

My 77 TA was the sharpest looking and fastest ' off the line.'... anywhere I went.. keep your black interior.. mine was white leather w black carpet..and no one ever beat "the blonde in the black Trans Am"..

This one wasn't in terrible condition around the windows. My dads 77 black TA had the paint on the chrome pieces around the rear and front windshield flake off starting in 79 or 80. Mind you it was sitting outside in the baking Colorado sun. But after four years. Also in fall of 77 we towed a uhaul behind this thing from FL to CO and the rear end never came up to normal ride height again. I think the leaf springs were shot. Not meant to tow uhaul. So if you remember seeing a black TA towing a uhaul across the south in the summer or fall of 77 well...also remember that was the summer fleet wood Mac had a bunch of hits on the radio.
@faithismine1286 жыл бұрын
I saw a 77TA towing a small boat.A Nissan Sentra pulled out of a Taco Bell and got T- boned hard by a Dodge Dart the TA tried to stop and the boat trailer jackknifed.They all ended up in a pile.It was quite spectacular and no one was killed.

Great restoration and attention to detail. I'd address the ride height if you haven't already. Rear end looks lazy, or the front is too high.
@siu8598 жыл бұрын
I special ordered a 1977 TA from the dealer back in the day and the TA's back then were notorious for having the rear springs sag down. An aftermarket TA supply store sold real leaf height extenders which brought back end up 4 inches to level out the car.

Maybe its me but,it looks like you didn't touch the undercarriage at all. No steering/suspension components,tranny,differential or rear suspension,didn't blast and undercoat the bottom or re-do the engine bay whatsoever.
