What's truly funny about this is that out of all the Homunculi, Gluttony is the one who put Mustang on the run... The most simple-minded and probably overlooked Homunculi had the power to counteract Mustang's flame alchemy.

true but evny has no real ranged attacks or inhuman reflexs or any form of protection hes a alot of souls and transformation and the super human strenght. the best ones to deal with roy would be Sloth wraith Pride greed gluttony Lust could have done it when she had the chance but opted to let him bleed out instead of slashing him to super death other than that shes not fast enough to dodge his attacks nor has the reflexes to do it. Low soul count as stated she had the least amount of souls in her stone so she had limited regen (how many times she could be brought back) she wasnt a fighter she was more of an assassin like envy only difference is envy could switch to warrior or get the fuck out of there

I have to admit, envy was one of the most fascinating characters created in this series. Though the anime could not really get his great characterdevelopement through as good as the manga did, but the way how his abilites work, and how he acts, it really suits his name and makes me, particular, think a lot about this sin, and the way we humans usually react. Showing the strong inner beast and the weak insect infecting others to get power, I am really amazed by this characterdesign.

I love Roy. No bullshit, no long-winded speeches or waiting politely while his opponent powers up. Just relentless, violent explosions. If more anime characters fought like him, there'd be a lot more winning done and a lot less exposition.

yea the OG series chopped and mixed the story (Which is all good of what it was), and Brotherhood was more faithful to the manga. Both shows have their respective strengths and flaws. if I was to suggest a way to watch it it would be see the OG series up until Greed first shows up in the Devils Nest the switch to Brotherhood.

Envy Homunculus Indeed as good as the OG Envy was the Brotherhood Envy had such an epic story arc. #pipsqueak. Check out the amv Envy- The Bird and the Worm- The Used. highly recommend to any FMA/ Envy fan :)

I believe you have it backwards Zhako. Remember when they were fighting in the forest and Edward took out all the lights, so Pride couldn't use his power? Light is the source of power. Roy's flames would allow Pride to create his shadows, lol.

@Nerf570 In The Manga and Brotherhood , Envy IS Androgynous and Voiced by A Very Butch Female in BOTH The Japanese AND English Dub BUT his Preferred Form is Male and Envy`s USUALLY referred to by Male Pronouns ! However , in The 2003 Anime as The Failed Transmutation of Hohenheim and Dante`s Teenaged Son who died of Mercury Poisoning , Envy IS Male in That Continuity and thus his Female Clothing and Mannerisms TECHNICALLY qualify him as A Self-Made Transgender !

Right, but when has Roy done that out of the gate? He usually observes a bit before firing off. Pride only needs a second to injure Roy. I mean, Pride is basically a shadow form of lust. He can create INFINITE spears and sharp weapons from shadows, while Lust just had her fingers. lol Roy's biggest advantage is that Pride is a more stationary opponent (unlike Wrath, who's extremely mobile). I dunno, it'd be one hell of a fight though. :)
